The more I watch, the more I realize how much of a complete back he is. He has the size to run inbetween the tackles, but the speed (being only 6'2'', ~200) to run on the outside. He will be an "every down back".
First of all, nice tape! Love the slow mo when he makes a great play.
I love the balance, tackle breaking and LOVE the SOJ! It is a skill to be able to control the ball with one hand and use the other as a weapon. He also seems to have great vision. Looks good at catching the ball as well. Lots of upside.
Downside of what I saw was he takes a lot of risks trying to make a play which in college would cause him to get major negative yards. He is way to skilled for it to be a problem in HS but in college, he will have to learn how to take what he can get and not try to do a homerun as often.
With his balance and pinball bouncing, I see him as a lot like Brendan Bigelow at Cal.
A couple of things really jump out at me. 1) That stiffarm! Reminds me a little of Beanie. I know he doesn't have Wells' size, but who knows what a couple of years of Mariotti will do for him. 2) The vision. Some of the cuts he makes are outrageous, and I love the way he directs his blockers in front of him.
Dude is going to be nasty! The big thing that jumps out to me is his unbelieveable balance and fundmentals, whether it's his vision to hit the hole and following his blockers, compelety stiffarm those poor defenders, or being difficult to tackle. Can't wait to see Ezekiel going crazy in the Big Ten.
I noticed that too. Would like to see him finish his plays rather than dogging it into the end zone, but obviously he didn't have to. Nothing a little coaching can't cure.
They play in Class 3 in Missouri, and his team has made the state championship game the past three years. It looks like Class 3 are smaller schools but in the middle of the spectrum.
MSHSAA's member schools are organized into groups based on enrollment, with Class 1 being the smallest. In 11-man football the largest is Class 6, comprising the largest 32 schools based on enrollment. Schools wishing to play 8-man football must have an enrollment smaller than 200 total students. Boys and Girls Basketball has five classifications. Class 5 schools are those with 1,175 students and above; while Class 1 schools are those with 119 students and below.
Looks to be a pretty complete back. He looks to have good speed and change of direction, he runs with some power, he catches it well, has good vision and what looks to be a pretty effective stiff arm. RB depth shouldn't be an issue next year even if El Guapo leaves early.
The "Zeke" arm was impressive. I liked the way he found lanes to run through, even on busted plays. It looks like he has excellent hands and can get open in the passing game. The Katzenmoyer impersonation at 8.33 sealed it for me. Consider me a big fan.

Favorite run is at the 9:00 mark, solid stiff arm in the backfield followed by just running over a kid to get into the endzone. Very impressive, cant wait to see this kid play for us!
2014: Ezekiel, Jalin, Devin Smith (he'll be a senior right?), Michael Thomas, Shelton Gibson, Baugh, and hopefully James Quick lined up with Braxton w/ Brionte as the power back? As well as any stud we get in the 2014 class? I'm salivating.
Oh my...kid can catch the ball WELL for a running back. I'm excited...

He is going to be nasty in our system.

That stiff arm is nasty and his tackle at 8.33 I had to rewind that tackle like 5 times
Gotta love that stiff-arm, so few backs use that any more. Beanie had one of the all-timers in that regard, Pryor a close second.

It seems to me Zeke is basically jogging while making many of these plays. I'm ecstatic to see him running full speed in our Offense.
I noticed that too. Would like to see him finish his plays rather than dogging it into the end zone, but obviously he didn't have to. Nothing a little coaching can't cure.
Anyone know his level of competition? He makes them look like they are undersized and slow.

Finally getting around to watching this. Wow. You know you had a good year when you have a more than nine minute senior highlight film.
Nice combo of size, vision, balance and speed. Looking fwd to seeing how he does against better competition.
