6'10", 295 lbs. UT commit offered by Urban and staff. He looks pretty nimble and quick for a giant! Looks to be a project for Warriner. Any thoughts or info?

I'm part of the school of thought that believes that there is a limit on height for tackles, despite being the tallest position on the field. If this kid can't keep his pad level low, which will be difficult with his stature, he won't be effective. Same goes for Orlando Brown Jr. Not saying I don't want these kids, it's just a risk to take them. He seems to have a high ceiling though.
I agree with all your comments. If this kid can keep his pad level low, he could be a absolute monster. At 295, he could carry another 40 lbs with ease. Makes me think about Reid Fragel when I saw him. Imagine if Mr. Fragel would have played OT from the get go? If this kid has a good work ethic and a good coach, he could be special IMO.
high ceiling..hehe.
I watched the video on the kid/man-child, and he looked pretty agile, albeit vs. H.S. competition. I really liked the nasty streak he showed though...
I agree with the ability to get low though; that, and long arms are very important for LT's to keep those DE's at a distance.
Wow! Most door openings are 6'-8". Dude has to duck pretty much every time he enters or leaves a place. I say we pass based on the concussion risk factor alone, haha. ;)

Imagine the poor 5'11" 205 lb. HS kid lined up across from him most of a game. Nightmarish.
I just watched his tape. He does a decent job of staying low, makes contact around the numbers and really just blows guys away. I don't know the level of competition and judging by how his tape looked (he was a man amongst boys), I expect it wasn't great. He has great footwork, seems very agile and it appears he's got a bit of mean in him. I like this kid.
With that size, I don't think there are many kids in high school who would look good, if they were top notch high school teams or not.
Good point - you're right, but also, and I didn't mention this, looking at the fans in the stands also suggests lower level competition - a bit of an assumption on my part which could easily be incorrect.
What did you think of the tape?
I hope they don't have ceiling fans in the dorms. OUCH!
