This is looking like it might actually be a game.
I'm not sure whether to root against LSU (SEC) or to root against Clemson (team Watson is currently committed to). Hard to root FOR either. Guess I'll just watch indifferently and hope to see some good football!

I was glad to tape and watch the second half with my son this new years morning.

Clemson for me... I hate LSU
Clemson for me too. Every time I see a LSU defensive player, they're always trying to intimidate others and I don't like bullies.
Never thought I'd say this, but outside of special teams, really poor tackling night for LSU. They're wiffing on the first one to two tackles on nearly every play.
SEC vs anyone, ill root for anyone (with an obvious exception).
Think LSU will pull away in the 2nd half (how many more shots can Boyd take? He's getting destroyed on every dropback). LSU's special teams unit is playing elite football; LSU's offense kind of got away from the run, have to think they'll try to start establishing it again (the first couple of drives they just ran over Clemson). Gotta give it to Clemson for sticking with LSU to this point. LSU's front seven, especially their DL is top 3 in the country imo. Their secondary looks a bit vulnerable at times, though, when Boyd has anytime to pass (not super often towards the end of the half).

Clemson's had only 1 4-star OL recruit since the 2009 class. This is the type of game where that shows up--Boyd is getting absolutely destroyed by the LSU defensive line on every single drop-back. No OL recruits above 3* in the 2013 class, and none so far in an early 2014 class, doesn't look like help is coming anytime soon. You can't expect to play against the big boys if you don't have the guys on OL. You'll put up numbers against little sister's of the poor, but not against top talent when you're not winning in the trenches.
Hopefully a QB recruit like Watson will consider that. I'd be surprised if Boyd even makes it through the rest of the game getting hit the way he is on every play.

Watching Boyd try and avoid the rush or run up field really makes me appreciate Braxton even more.

Arizona's comeback was pretty sweet too, but this featured two highly ranked teams so probably is still better.

A great QB makes that team. Without Boyd Clemson remains Clemson. Boyd is a special player.
No more important position in college football then QB; you can even get by in the NFL with an average QB; case in point; Christian Ponder, Matt Schuab and Joe Flacco whose teams made the playoffs.

One game whether win or loss is not going to flip or change a decision from a recruit, LOL. Maybe in NCAA '13. Might as well have rooten against the SEC completely.

Not sure I agree. Clemson has always been thought to be average and unable to win games against top tier competition. They have a lot of emotion and momentum right now. The coach can claim that he can compete with the best now, especially as that team that he beat is among the best in the SEC this year. If winning games isn't important then I don't know how the undefeated season benefits us. I know you pointed out a single game but I've seen recruits commit after a single game so who knows. We had a few decommit after committing after a single game.
True dat. If I'm looking at things glass half full though, if this could somehow be a springboard to the SEC having a down year (losses by a couple SEC teams, loss by Bama in NCG)--HUGE, unlikely if--but if it could, and some of that SEC mystique gets chipped away, maybe we miss out on Deshaun Watson and Demarre Kitt, but think of all of the amazing southern recruits who immediately commit to the SEC because "it's the SEC" who suddenly start being open to teams outside the SEC in years to come. This might be a short term draw back, but if more SEC teams start losing, and losing high profile games, it could be the start of a larger movement that would absolutely benefit OSU (and any other good team outside of the SEC).
Congrats to Clemson!!They out played a good LSU team!! Would not have bet Clemson makes a 4th and 16!! They deserved it!! Even better that LSU goes down!!

Sucks for us though if you look at it, Clemson will be better next year, it may be harder to flip Watson now.
Harder to flip Watson (I personally like Barker anyhow), but if SEC teams start losing on the big stage over the next couple of years (especially games like Florida/Louisville, Alabama/ND), eventually the SEC mystique could start cracking -- and that would be very good for teams like OSU recruiting down south in the future. I'm being a bit overly-optomistic here, but I'm hoping for a reality in which this is the beginning of the SEC's fall back down to earth.

I can't see punching a player. But then again I can't see losing to Clemson either. Lets not lose sight of the fact that the best team in the ACC gave up 70 to a mediocre Big East team that dropped 6 straight in convincing man handling fashion in the no defense Big 12. Just to put things into perspective.
