It looks like Michigan is heading to the Outback Bowl against South Carolina. Purdue to the "Heart of Dallas Bowl" against a Big12 foe. Also, Nebraska will play in the Capital One Bowl against Georgia. Ouch...
I was hoping to see Northwestern head to the Capital One, but apparently the B1G lobbied for Nebraska. I don't have a lot of confidence in the Huskers at this point, so that could easily turn into a New Year's Day slaughter.
Do any of you see potential B1G wins in these games? I have a hard time envisioning more than 2 wins for the league this bowl season. Actually, I think Wisconsin stands a pretty good chance against Stanford, as they match up fairly well from a physical standpoint. Wisconsin got lucky with the Oregon loss; the Ducks would have hammered Wisky.

Nebraska is going to get destroyed, I think Michigan loses by a touchdown to SC
SC bigger chokes than the Wolverines
And UM played well last few bowls I think
You're wrong on a few counts there. M!chigan has not played well in their last few bowls; they squeaked by the cHokies last year, got blown out by Miss. St. the year before, and didn't even make a bowl the two years prior to that.
USC has played well this year, despite losing Lattimore halfway through the season. Their only two losses were at Florida and LSU, two teams ranked in the top 10.
I'll take USC to crush scUM. Clowney is going to have a field day on Gardner.

I don't think these are as bad as they could be. Northwestern can play with Miss. State, Michigan will prob be ok in their game, Nebraska can score some points to maybe keep them in that game. MSU and Purdue have good shots too IMO. Wisky matches up physically with anyone, so that could be a fun Rose bowl too
Avoiding A&M was good for the teams, as well as avoiding LSU IMO.
Agree on the A&M part, but not LSU. LSU is a fraud, in my view. I think the top 2-3 teams in the B1G could have kept up with them.
Also, I would have felt a lot better about the Nebraska matchup if they hadn't just given up SEVENTY points against 8-5 WISCONSIN, for Christ's sake! Who knows which Nebrasky team shows up. At this point, I am not at all confident about Nerbaska's chances.

The only way Michigan keeps it close is if the defense shuts down the Gamecocks...USC's defense will give Michigan fits as their D line is STOUT...The entire D is a bunch of heavy hitters...Can't wait to see the hurting they put on Michigan
100% of unprayed prayers go unanswered
Remember how many times Ohio State's D ended up in the backfield against Mich? Without John Simon? Yeah, it's gonna be like that, only worse, with Clowney. No way that Michigan keeps it close in that game.

EXACTLY...Clowney is like Simon on Viagra (Thank you Brandon Marshall)...lol
100% of unprayed prayers go unanswered
Yeah, hate to say it but the B1G could easily lay a goose egg in the bowl games... but who knows, there could be an upset. Maybe NW over Miss St
I agree, I have a hard time seeing the Big Ten winning one game.
Bowls are gonna be ugly. We are outmatched plain and simple...
The bad news is that the only win I can see for the B1G is MSU in the BW3 Bowl. The good news is that I think most of the losses won't be slaughters. Nebraska and Purdue are the only two teams I think will be blown out.
Class of 2010.
I see Minnesota getting killed. Do they count as a member of the B1G?

B1G teams are set up to fail with the two best teams in the conference ineligible.. It could get ugly, those are very tough matchups
Oh, the hilarity...Oklahoma bounced from the BCS by Northern Illinois! Hahaha.

Cue the "Oklahoma should be in over the B1G Champion" argument. And you know what? They are 100% correct. Wisconsin shouldn't be anywhere NEAR a BCS bowl!

Ouch, that Nebraska game might get out of hand quickly. I know it is just a dream, but would love to see the big10 make a run in the bowl games and turn the media on their head about the " down year". I'm a glass half full kind of guy, what can I say.
I think one of the B1G teams will pull an unexpected win. It seems someone always does. My guess is Wisconsin. I can see Nwestern doing well and I think MSU should play well. Nebraska's defense cant stop a cold and TTUN may not score period. Purdue could realistically be the only B1G team to win. Same thing could be said for Minnesota. Yeeesh. It really was a horrible season.

^ That would be nice, but we're probably looking at our Rose Bowl rep for the conference finishing the season at 8-6.... and not much better after that. I do think MSU and NW will win tho.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Fichigan beat South Carolina as long as Devin Gardner get's the majority of snaps at qb, and they keep Denard on the field at all times. Nebraska may have a chance if Georgia is not motivated, you never know. Wisconsin vs Stanford is going to be a good matchup and could go either way...I give a slight edge to Stanford though!
nebraska has no chance...that game is gonna be like a middle school fullback trying to pancake Ray Lewis, he'll toy with em at first then once he's bored he'll just curbstomp em and put them out of their misery
All the games of the season are just practices for that glorious saturday in November when we get to jack Shoelace's invisible cereal bowl and drink our fill of delicious skunkweasel tears ...Michigan Still Sucks!!
another analogy to nebraska would be they will now know how the buffet at Golden Corral feels when Brady Hoke walks in the door

Northern Illinois vs FsU
I predicted at the beginning of the season that B1G would lose all of its bowl games this season with teams being forced to play up in stature due to the bowl bans. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if I were right unfortunately.
vacuuming sucks
I don't think Wisky has a chance against Stanford. Stanford's front seven is better than Wisky's. Wisky's lack of passing will really hurt them.
scUM v. SC will be a confusing match-up, as it will be nearly impossible to tell which players are c*cks...
Scum will have trouble with the gamecocks mobile qb.
Connor Shaw averages 2.8 ypc and his backup averages 1.1 ypc. He's not "mobile."

This is spurrier best qb and defense At sc around 12 in country I wish lattimore hadn't gotten hurt. Mobile can be escape sacks . Spurrier doesn't like qbs running. I think of one you could run leek.
Jesus, man. What? I don't even...

I don't understand the what the issue is here. English is his 4th language or something...and he lives to be a buckeye. I have very little trouble interpreting what he's saying. All buckeyes, no matter the language spoken.
It's not how it's written, it's what he says. He contributes pointless and redundant threads/posts and has on occasion resorted to name calling when contested. His comments would have bothered me just as much if they were written in perfect english.

Can you demostrate perfection in your 4th language? Words and ideas do not translate perfectly. He is clearly a hardcore fan that is trying hard...live and let buck. Imagine you're putting your thoughts into something and someone says, "errr you can't english so you're a troll." Get real.
Like I said I have no problem with his English. I have a problem with what he writes, which I can comprehend just fine. Common sense is more his problem than anything.
Does him calling me a loser, putting down the city of Cleveland, my hometown of Shaker Heights, or gloating about speaking 5 languages translate to a grammatical misunderstanding? I tried emailing him to iron out our differences and he refuses to respond, like normal.

Also, 703 you're a great poster. If he turns out to be a troll like so many people think, that sucks. But, if he's a die hard fan that can't articulate and we alienate him and ruin his fandom, we f'ed up bad.
Back to the bowl games...
I think that the B1G will win four games this bowl season. The perception of the weak conference (accurate this year unfortunately) will help in this case. I have a feeling that the teams that see they are playing the middle of the road B1G teams are going to think it's a cakewalk and not show up! This leads to Northwestern, Minnesota, and Michigan State all winning, and then another win thrown in there... Either Wisconsin out muscles Stanford, or Purdue scores more than Okie State who isn't the same offensive juggernaut they once were.
I would say ttun wins, but I wouldn't want to put it in writing and believe that I had anything to do with making that happen!
