I'm kinda disappointed that our next two seasons we won't be playing Nebraska or Michigan st. I enjoy playing those teams. Two years not playing them is disappointing but we may see them in the big ten championship but still I'm going to miss playing them. Now Iowa and northwestern will get a chance to contain braxton . Not gonna happen lol Go Bucks

Yea it sucks with cross-divisonal match ups. Next 2 yrs bama misses fla ga n usce in cross division games talk abt lucky draw missing the 3 best sec east teams

I hate to bring you back down to reality but just because we don't play the teams you will miss doesn't mean Iowa and Northwestern won't present obstacles to our quest to win a Big Ten title. Iowa had a crappy year and there is no reason to expect them to be the same under Kirk in 2013. He's paid too much and is too good at what he does to overlook this Iowa team. I believe it was in 2009 when they had a Freshman QB replace Stanzy* and took OSU to overtime in the Shoe. Not saying its all on Vandenburgh but Iowa could be back to the normal team we've seen if they fix their QB situation and stay healthy at RB. As for Northwestern, they return nearly EVERYONE. Not sure if you've been paying attention to Wildcat football, but they always beat a team no one expects them to and Ohio State is no different see 2004. First Big Ten road game, experience and more developed players under Fritz spread coupled with our holes in several positions spells upset on the road...
Before you're quick to write off the competition in the Big Ten, it might be helpful if you take off the OSU glasses, put down the scarlet and grey Kool-Aid and have a more well rounded opinion and respect for the competition we play in the conference.

Taking Ohio State to overtime in 2009, and winning in 2010 have what to do with now? A Justin Zwick led Buckeye team is not comparable to having Braxton Miller at the helm.
I get the idea that you should have a healthy "fear" or respect for an opponent, but that more for the players and coaches, not the fans.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
What does Zwick have to do with '09 and '10?
He brought up 04 against NW. :/

Oop, I see that now, my bad. Post was too long for my attention span, carry on.
Haha.
I'm surprised I made it through one sentence after all the shovelling I had to do today.

I almost died driving down to see family. I threw you an upvote for your trouble, happy holidays!
I just wish we had a marquee opponent in 2013. I enjoy games like 2009 against USC even though we lost, 2006 @ Texas, etc. Fun seeing us play bigtime opponents in the regular season.
Yeah, I think Iowa and Northwestern will likely be good games, the problem for me is just that they don't do anything for our SOS in comparison to MSU and Nebraska. Hopefully we'll start high enough on the AP & Coaches polls that it won't matter too much.
It doesn't do anything for us in regard to perception but I think we would have to wait and see how both teams finish the year to determine SOS. I have a healthy respect for NW and their results this year. If they dial in a decent defense they can be serious trouble for the rest of the B1G. I still like our chances but haven't written that game up as a W yet.
Hint: they're off the schedule a lot longer than two years, and that was before the new additions to the conference.
Haha wtf dude. I will never quit drinking my Ohio state kool aid. Your quick on the trigger with assuming I'm saying northwestern and Iowa suck. I dont care who you put braxton against he will make plays some how some way. Iowa is a very good school and yes the wildcats have some nice playmakers as well. I'm saying I enjoy the Nebraska and Michigan st games. You might wanna go back and watch some games from this year and see who our qb is. I don't think me saying they couldn't contain braxton is considered me not respecting the talent of other big ten schools.

Forgive me, I misread your post and its been a stressful day driving in the avalanche of snow in NE Ohio. Rabble Rabble Rabble damn snow storm. I thought you were trying to discredit Iowa and Northwestern defenses. Miller will cause problems for these teams seeins how their defenses, espcially Northwestern aren't as built to handle a someone of Miller capabilities. Sure NW goes against Colter in practice but their DL is also unconditioned (see Indiana and Neb game). Iowa defense, Meh...MSU and Neb defenses were built to stop and contain the run but it will be interesting to see what Miller does against Iowa and NW.
P.S. I'm defensive about Northwestern since they are my second favorite team. Been drinking the purple drink too long!

What were we talking about?
im not a northwestern fan but i could see them having a good team in the future
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I'm very disappointed in the 2013 out of conference scheduling. We have Buffalo, San Diego, and Florida A&M all at home and a weak Cal team (3-9) away. Bucks have no outside team to showcase "eliteness." Then the BIG schedule without Nebraska or Mich St. We'll be fighting SOS issues all season if we run the table again. Also, Braxton won't be able to showcase his full talents against worthy outside competition which may tarnish his Heisman status. Now in 2014, we have Navy and Kent State (should be easy wins), followed by VA Tech (6-6 in weak ACC) and Cincinnati (10-3 in weak Big East) both at Columbus. So, with no marquee outside matchups, it's difficult to foster any national support in Buckeye Power. Just have to hope we start highly ranked and upper echelon teams knock each other off so we can move up.
