2012 - The Glorious Season

Alright - just bear with me.  Yes, we went undefeated after a terribly disappointing year-and-one-half.  And no, we don't get to see the fruits of those labors in the normal pseudo post season manner.  But for me, this was an incredibly glorious season - but probably not how you all would think.

You see, this was the season that I learned that I do NOT have to be a slave to the four letter and all of it's incessant spewing.  I tuned in to the Buckeye games, and spent (too) much of my fall Saturdays watching other games (often meaningless, horrible contests - thanks TV scheduling).  But I did not feel inclined to live and die by all of the off of the field analysis, to get myself worked up over stupid comments designed to piss off a certain fan base.  I learned that I could enjoy the game for what it is - a game, albeit, my most favorite of all games.  And one that features my Buckeyes.

So - as I read about the latest ignorant things that Mark May said to get people talking about him and his network; or where the latest sportswriter from the deep south that may or may not have an agenda against the B1G has ranked our team; I remember what I learned this year - that I have the power to tune that out, turn it off, and move on to something more meaningful.

Now - the real question is - will I remember this next year, when the season means more than it did this year?  When every time the B1G loses, it could affect the Buckeyes perceived strength?  Or will I even want to?  Who knows.  But once again - thanks to the team, managers, coaches and school (and I supposed, just maybe, Gene Smith and E Gordon Gee) for the 2012 season.

Go Bucks!

You forgot the k.

While, there wasn't a national championship appearance, we did get to see the fruits of their labor. We saw this team go from being a laughable nc contender(ap or otherwise), to fearing no team in the top 5. We watched a previously disappointing O'Line go from the biggest weakness to a dominating unit. We witnessed the emergence of a RB that most Buckeye fans(not me i'm happy to say) had concluded couldn't be the main backfield threat.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

D'oh.  Edited.  Thanks!

And yes, very good points on seeing development, growth all around.  Looking forward to even more growth in the years to come!
