2013 Cincinnati (OH) Colerain OL Dylan Wiesman de-committed from Cincinnati a couple of days ago, just about a week after Butch Jones took the Tennessee job. Here's the latest
- Wiesman is in contact with Coach Combs
- He's visiting Ohio State January 11th and Tennessee January 18th. He also told me he has two more free weekends for officials.
- OSU offer? "They're still in the process (of talking about it) is what I've been told."
This is definitely something that should be monitored up to signing day. I'll have more from Dylan after he visits.

Interesting, do you think this would be a reach or is there something in his senior film they really liked?

Over stretch take another OL in 2014 don't waste a scholarship when we could possibly land a better LB or WRin this class
Yea, why "waste" a scholarship on some 3 star kid at a position of need?

My thoughts exactly. Um, wasnt John Simon a 3-star?
"Sherman ran an option play right through the south" - Greatest.Civil.War.Analogy.Ever
He was most definitely a 5-star.
I wouldn't cheer for Michigan if they were playing the Taliban.
If either of you decided to read the article and comments in the link provided, you would see that you both are right. Rivals had Simon as a 3* while 247 had him as a 5*. The article only looked at Rivals rankings to be consistent across classes.
I think Warinner has proven that he can take average to good lineman and make them look great in Urban's offense, which has just scratched the surface in terms of "Urban's Offense." When Wiesman decommitted from UC it looked, to me, like it was in the cards for him to end up in Columbus. More so, now, with Dawson recommitting and Lacy reaffirming his committment to UCLA.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

Yea, but this assuming that they want another OL, which I think is debatable only because we still have a few "make room for" guys on the board that if they want in, we take them no matter what. That's why I think the site recruiting guys are saying to watch this go down to NSD.
Come on national signing day!! Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
So do you take Wiseman over Elder/ Timmons or is there more attitrion coming?
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
I think that's a question that time will answer. But I think most people feel confident that we will take 2 more WRs regardless. With Sanders committing to A&M, we're now looking at Mitchell, Johnson, longshot with Hearns, and Worley at LB; Bell at S, and Quick, Gibson, longshot with Stevens, Elder, and Timmons at WR. My guess is three LBs, two WRs, and either Bell or an OL. Check Gene's quickbits because I believe we just offered a UTenn commit OL that is freaking 6'10" - so Wiesman is not our only target at OL, making me think that we want one more OL in the class. So maybe the staff thinks we can take 7 more max?
We NEED more lineman. If we have injury problems on the oline at all the next year or two we are in trouble. If they think this guy is good enough for Warinner to turn him into a solid college player, then we take him. We don't necessarily need some of the other players on the board and I'd rather have an olineman than reach for a WR if we don't get Gibson and Quick.
Dan Skipper 6'10 292 from Colorado,Tennessee commit right now,but mammoth kid!! I'd take him over Wiesman and Hunt, kid from California. But remember, not as thin at o-line as guys think. We had O'Conner, Dotson, a few others red-shirt last year due to injuries. So we're not that thin, but if we can get a playmaker versus o-line,gotta go with play-maker!!
SCOTTC.
If it came down to space, I think I would take Wiesman over Worley, given our depth at DB in this year's class and Warriner's success with linemen. I'm thinking that we'll have room for both.
