This weekend should be a big one for the Buckeyes, and I find it hard to believe that it will be anything but an incredible success. However, my question to the staff and the other posters is how soon will we be able to gage the success of this weekend? What do you even think a good weekend for us looks like?
On a side note, does the staff encourage current commits to make the pilgrimage to C-bus as an assistance for the visit? "Look how happy these other wonderful young men are?"
I personally think that the instant commitment of Mike Mitchell, and to a far lesser extent Gareon Conley is almost expected. Mike has held TOSU in first despite a multitude of visits to other schools, and he nearly committed despite not visiting. Gareon Conley has not even decided whether he will take other officials, I think he WANTS to be blown away by TOSU, and hopefully we oblige.
What do you think happens in the immediate aftermath of this weekend?
This is always one of our biggest recruiting weekends of the year. A lot of our current commits will take their official visits and then we will have a lot of our top uncommited prospects visiting.
I think it is very likely that Mike Mitchell commits sometime next week.
Gareon Conley is another matter. He is scheduled to visit Michigan later this month so the staff might push for him to commit this weekend. Same thing with David Dawson but there is a much better chance Conley commits than Dawson IMO.
I thought we would have at least one commitment from the Scum game but we didn't. That doesn't mean it wasn't a success. I hope for a commitment this weekend but I know a commitment or not there will be positives out of this weekend. Go Bucks!

I think with the coaches being able to devote more time to the recruits this weekend that it will be different. Plus, I think recruits are starting to see a lot of interest in OSU and figuring out how the class could finish up.
Great questions that you ask. I wonder the same, and to be honest I thought with the atmosphere of the game we would've at least got a single gray box. I know we made a great impression on a lot of recruits and not just for 2013 but for 2014 as well which is good. I really would like to get Mitchell, Conley, and Von Bell.

I feel like all of us on this board might have gotten caught up in the excitement of the "Official Season Visitors" thread.
I think we had an incredible weekend recruiting wise, but it is so hard to determine success when recruits have weekly favorites and we dont have grey boxes. /Not a complaint.
I do think we have alot of recruits primed and aligned. Once that first one falls...
You could be right on an immediate commitment for Mitchell and Conley (as well as Worley and Munger additionally, though I don't believe Worley's scheduled to visit) if all goes well. I don't foresee Bell or Dawson committing to anyone until at least the Under Armour or Army All-American games, though (and with Dawson I'd say I'm 90% convinced he goes back to Michigan, it would take a truly amazing weekend for us to draw even with MSU or especially Michigan for him).
I also have a bad feeling Bell will end up cancelling the visit. I'd love to get him up here, and if we do I think we have a great shot. But it just feels like one of those situations where he'll plan a visit, cancel, plan a visit, cancel, until eventually he just commits to one of his two teams down south (Tenn & Bama). I really hope I'm wrong on that, though!
In my opinion if Bell does not make it up here this weekend he does not end up at TOSU. I think it would be awfully hard for him to commit to us, even though he had a couple of really good experiences this summer, over a team he has seen several times this fall and winter. Love fades..
One of my guys I go to for info said that he expects Conley and Mitchell to commit. Said Conley pretty soon afterwards and maybe Mitchell towards the middle of next week.
Also said he would expect Trey Johnson to commit at any moment. He's not optimistic about Dawson.
Take this all, FWIW. Trey Johnson may indeed take the other visits, Conley may indeed take more visits, or Mitchell could wait longer. Ya just never know. But that's what he told me.
It does seem like Dawson has cooled on us a bit..
Is recruiting really as streaky as it appears? Will one recruits commitment this weekend perhaps cause others to catch the excitement bug? It just seems like looking through the dates commitments came in 2-3's.
And whats your take TOSU commits takeing visits for non game weekends? Whats the purpose?

Football pep rally Friday night, but that's all I know of. Also, OSU bball playing at the Schott on Saturday at noon is a good option
