1. Urban was 7-0 after a bye and 14-1 against rival teams at florida, numbers don't lie and if you consider urbans 7-1 bowl record you quickly realize when you give this guy enough time he WILL out coach you. Expect to see a healthy and well coached tOSU team.
2. This was the game that all of they players were talking about in the pre-season, I could only imagine that they've were praticing for Wisky more then any other team not named scUM during the offeason season. Expect to see a team that fully utilizes urbans "plans to win," I would imagine they have most of their plays already scripted out for the first half.
3. Though Wisky might be the toughest game we play all year this is the best matchup for us. Wiskys strength lies in winning the trenches and a lot of play actions on offense, while on defense they pride themselves on their ability to tackle in open space and win the TOP. Expect to see a very lobsided rushing battle, Simon and co will reck havoc for Mon-Tee Mon-Tay while Braxton gets into open space and makes Wisky pay.
4. As everyone at this point in the year everyone knows we come alive for the big game and like I said before this was the game that all of the players circled on their calenders. No matter if its on the road or at home the big game really brings out the best in this team and with this being our first true rivalry game under urban there is no reason to expect anything else. Expect to see a pissed off and intense tOSU team, I would be shocked if any players left any juice at home for this game.
5. This will be a nationally televised game and a chance to show the world that the 10-0 buckeyes have a shot a running the BCS table if not for NCAA sanctions. A lot of people like to criticize the B1G because we aren't allowed to be ranked in the BCS poll, a win will legitify a spot among the best teams in the country. Expect everyone to be talking about this game and expect that a big time game from Xbrax will lead to a seat in NYC.

Nike pro combat uni's. We will wear them and are undefeated in them.
We will wear the pro combats against Michigan, according to a source on the team
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
haha I think we'll win, but these reasons are a little ridiculous.
I read somewhere that Mon-Tay went back to Mon-Tee a few weeks ago because Mon-Tay wasn't getting enough production lol
Because we have Urban Meyer and they have...
I expect to see Urban and Tom, during these last two games, really open up the playbook, and show us some plays we haven't seen at all yet. I've sort of felt all year, despite our offense stalling at times, that we would not full show our playbook until absolutely necessary. I think towards the end of the Purdue game with Kenny G under center they used some plays we hadn't seen before (because we were desperate at that point).
Also, that QB counter play that has been so successful (where Brax option reads with the RB, and then just follows the RB through the hole), I would guess that will utilized a few more times, and then a wrinkle added off of it.
But hey, take these words with a grain of salt, as I'm certainly no coach.
Because Wisconsin just isn't that good.
Why We Will Beat Wisconsin:
1) We're a better team
Enough said haha.
Ball just went from a 3rd round pick to undrafted. The dangers of coming back for your senior year.
~Because we couldn't go for three~
@ Triv. I sure hope so! Haven't been to a game since Miami Fl (I live in SoCal) & would love to see to pro combats in person.
Wisconsins offense is what we are best against. Our d-line will especially do well against their o-line stopping the run. Their passing offense is nothing to be concerned with. We will win easily unless we have several turnovers or stupid mistakes at the worst times. Do not see any worries here.....mate.
I wouldn't say Wisconsin is a rival because they aren't. They are just annoying every few years or so when they have a team full of seniors and this isn't one of those years.
Amen @LLJJGG
I think we should make this rivalry official and turn it into a trophy game. Winner gets to steal a recruit from the other team.
Ubrz remembers the shit Bielma said after flipping Dodson. We put 63 on Nebraska... We're gonna put 70 on Wisconsin.
70 points would be nice, and enough to win I would hope
O H I O is the Buckeye State
This game has all the makings of Sparty 2.0, except Wisky doesn't have the defense that Sparty has. Our defense plays very well against pro-style offense and this is a PERFECT game for Zach Boren to do what he does best: plug the hole. Montee and Boren are going to see a lot of each other. And Wisky doesn't have the QB needed to beat OSU by himself. Going to be a grind, but this should be another win for the good guys. Then it's time for The Game!
Does anyone know what the QB situation is for Wisky? I assume they are back to the transfer from Maryland but I know little about his game other than that they struggled with him early in the season.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
Kid looks lossed in the pocket and is horrid at avoiding the pass rush from what I saw
I do NOT want to see the combat unis against scUM. I want to see traditional unis in The Game with helmets covered in Buckeye stickers. Use the combat unis for the Wisky game.
Their offense will most closely resemble Michigan State's... I'm confidence our D will match-up well...I like our offense against their D as well. I think we'll win by more than 10.
D. Anthony
The worst offensive line Wisconsin has had in 5 years. Not a lot of speed on Wisconsin's D. Braxton will float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. He wore a Muhammad Ali T-shirt after the Illinois game.....if it fits wear it.
I think we all know why we're going to win: You don't mess with Urban.
I also think that this team will bring a lot of intensity to Wisconsin after a week off... They will be ready to grind them into submission.
Wisconsin has no passing game, OSU should be in Danny boys face the entire game.
I smell a rout up in Madison and the 4th qtr jump around will not occur.
Tomorrow
Ann Arbor Buckeye
Stave: He is out with a broken collar bone
Curt Philips: I've heard from Wisconsin football forums that he is most likely to get the start seeing as how he's had previous experience and has been taking the most snaps.
Danny: Don't be surprised if he comes in if Philips is doing bad...
Expect to see 2QBs playing if Philipy/DOB does bad.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
Rural Meyer: thanks for looking up Urbz's past record after bye weeks (7-0) - you saved me the work.
I agree, his record after bye weeks, against rivals, in bowls -> we can probably expect a relatively high-level performance by Ohio State against Wisc. I might be able to win money around the office on this game because some of my colleagues are haters. When they see Ohio State favored by 6.5 points at Wisc, they will dive headfirst into the trap. By Friday of game week, when the line is up to 8.5, they will see the writing on the wall, but it will be too late . . .
Fido scammin' his coworkers. I like it, 'specially if they're haters.
If they want to bet against the Buckeyes, its only right to take their money. In fact, I think it is a moral obligation.
I never bet on my own team but I would agree that is a moral obligation of yours
It's hard to picture Wiscy coming away with a victory after losing their QB, the game isn't a night game, OSU coming off a bye, and OSU's defense acting they way they're supposed to. Plus, isn't Sabino back for this game? Maybe Boren is the answer on D, but Urban should have the option to put him back on offense if he chooses.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!
~Bo Schembechler
OSU is going to steam roll Bucky. They have no QB worth the Charmin extra soft he wipes his butt with and OSU will be just fine loading the box to stop Montaytee Ball. This is a team loaded with low quality recruits who play into a system that quite frankly isn't working as well as designed this year. The Defense can't keep OSU down long enough for their slow, plodding, grindy offense to wear down the clock. If OSU jumps up early, say 2 scores in the first quarter and a half, Bucky is toast. Big win coming here. 20 plus margain of victory at a minimum.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
... #6.) The Mind of Meyer:
Urban vs. Brett. End of story.
Excellent Brewster. Love the two old dudes from varsity blues.
Fundamentals are a crutch for the talentless.
Actually Rural, since Urban has become a head coach his record following the bye-week is 14-1, the lone loss coming to Miami, OH (21-24) at Doyt Perry Stadium in his first year at BGSU. Here's the breakdown (not including this year):
BGSU
01'-02' 3-1
Utah
03'-04' 3-0
Florida
05'-10' 8-0
Now, during my research the most interesting stat I found was Meyer's record in contest before the bye-week. Here's that Breakdown:
Though he was perfect in his first two stints;
BGSU
01'-02' 4-0
Utah
03'-04' 4-0
Here's where things get interesting,
Florida
05' 0-2
06' 0-1
07' 0-1
08' 2-0
09' 1-0
10' 0-1
Keep in mind, not that any of you needed reminded, that from 05' to present the SEC is in the greatest run in it's Conference history.
Also of note, even though this is just a small example, it's another reason why I believe Urban will be around longer than most of us believe he will be. The health issues and stress of winning due to the competition level won't be there until the B1G get's a more reputable reputation, other than the Big 2/Little 10! Well... atleast not until the B1G Championship Game & Playoff's begin anyway.
Id say its pretty obvious what's happened at wisconsin. Paul chryst left and took the o line coach with him. Leaving big bert without the two guys responsible for their run as a dominant running team. Not to mention they graduated some serious o line talent. Combine the two, and it sets the stage for us to dominate the war in the trenches. Our d line just keeps getting better as the young guys start to adjust to the speed and power of this level of grown ass man ball. Which lead to more rotation, and fresher legs when most teams would be wearing down. I think a statement will be made in camp randall. The statement is a big eff you too bert courtesy of urban. I think their scoreboard operator is gonna be busy putting up 6+1 at a time for our offense.
Our not so good team beat their very good team last year.. Their starting QB is out.. We are deffinately better than we were last year..if we don't win this game by 2TD'sI will be very surprised..I know this isn't a score prediction thread but I'm gonna say 35 - 21 bucks stomp the badgers on their turf...
This is why we beat Winconsin.
"It's just another case of there you are". ~ Doc (1918-2012)
I'm not a betting person, but I'd take anything favoring OSU by less then 2 TDs. Almost all the "field" cards are stacked in our favor for this one. The only thing Wisconsin has in their favor are the stands.
Offensively, they are really going right into our wheelhouse on defense. Our offense just has to be competent and not turn the ball over more than a couple of times, and I see a score that's easily something like 34-14, 41-10, etc.
And I don't even think we'll be spending much of the bye week preparing for these ugly Badgers. That's gonna be ALL scheming for the skunk weasels!
@Buckeyenation you miss read what I said, that was at florida only
Urban Meyer > Sissy girl Beilema
Braxton Miller >> Whoever they have at QB
John Simon, John Hankins, Nathan Williams, Ryan Shazier > Montee Ball
OSU O-Line > Wisconsin O-Line (wouldn't be last year but this year, yes)
OSU Special teams > Wisconsin special teams
Those are my reasons. But I really like Rural Meyer's points, just makes me more confident in our ability to go out there & dominate Wisconsin.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
need to factor in Camp Randall... the place is wild. Coming off a bye week makes things even more interesting...lets hope we treat this similar to how we played Penn State.
Buckeye Beast I'm with you except on special teams. Our special teams have been horrid this year.
Yeah I don't think I take our special teams over anyone at this point. But I do think our oline vs their dline, and our dline vs their oline favor us in both areas.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I really meant to say the punt & kick coverage. Wisconsin had the opening kickoff return for a TD when they took us down the year we were #1.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
Because Fathead is lame! In fact, Bielmuh as a child on the right!
I could have seen this being OSU's #1 toughest game coming into the season. I'm not so sure about that now. This isn't Russell Wilson and Ball like it was last year and OSU still was able to pull the upset. Camp Randall is always tough for OSU, but I don't think that happens this year. I've made my prediction and I'm sticking with it....either a closer game (35-21 or a whole lot to not much). Wisky is VERY one dimensional at this point in the season and it shows. I can't see Meyer being as conservative as he was against MSU. I could see Bielema's recruiting comments coming back to haunt him next weekend.
"There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you."
"I love football. I think it is most wonderful game in world and I despise to lose."
Woody Hayes 1913 - 1987
If they survived and flourished at Penn State with its white out night game and accompanying team and fan intensity, they should be able to deal with the Camp Randall hoopla.
