The noise we hear on TV isn't always an indication of the noise on the field. The noise can be amped up or toned down. I would like to hear from some of the people that were there. I never saw any of the the players trying to get the fan to cheer, or any comments from the announcers about it being quiet
I was there and it was loud pretty much the whole game. The crowd never got out of it, even after we shot ourselves in the foot a couple times. When Kenny G came in he had to ask the crowd to quiet down when we were on O.
I don't care what you heard on TV, it was very loud in the Shoe today.
I was there, it was loud, but not nearly as loud as the Nebraska game this year. I pride myself on being loud as shit, but after 8 hours of being outside with wind chills in the teens, I found myself to be kinda quiet. I was still louder than 90% of the people in my section but I'm going to have to say that atmospheric conditions had something to do with it. I was wearing a hat, gloves, scarf, 3 layers of shirts, jacket, jersey... Still cold as fuck.
People who say it wasn't loud are crazy. Any night game is going to be louder, nature of the game. But that was a damn loud game, especially for being a noon game.
It was loud. I have no voice left. It was not the most electric game I ever went to but it was loud the entire game at the points were it should be. I was in 6A.

The crowd was loud today, there was a lack of hand noise obviously due to the freezing temperatures requiring the use of gloves... have to give the fans a little bit of a break, mother nature muffled the noise a bit...all in all, i was there, thought the fans, in particular the students were great.
On TV it was not loud except on a few occassions Start of the game). It did not appear to cause any communication problems for UM at all. I thought on one set of downs when the Buckeyes couldnt convert I thought I heard some booing but it quickly got drowned out. I hope the booing was aimed at something going on that the network wasnt showing.
It was definitely loud. Sat in Block-O south and it was definitely a very loud game with a lot fo intensity.
I think the networks just turn down the crowd volume at times. I've watched some very low level teams before and it'll sound like there's 100,000 people there because they have the volume so high.
With all due respect waycracken, you cannot pass judgment if you weren't there in person. I've seen every big game from 02 to present including today from 7C and it was very loud. Come to the shoe then critique!
Ive been there 24 times in the past 10 years. I have 4 season tickets that I give away to my customers or employees regularly.
As far as what I said it was my observation. I watched todays game on TV and like Hayze commented on the broadcast is either getting filtered and crowd noise volume on all OSU games is turned down or their is something with the acoustics that make it quieter.
The game on tv sounded loud and then I had to turn up the tv. The definitely muted the crowd sound. It seemed like they did it right around ttun's first score. I remember because I saw their fight song and I was like "WTF where was ours?" That's the only thing I can think of was it was muted by ABC.

Sound like alot fans makeing noise to me but sound like the volume was turned down. When the TV volume was turned up you could hear the fans better but the anouncers were loud as hell. So I have to say the fans were definitly in the game
so true...
Watching the start of UF and FSU. So much more electricity. Is it possible the networks are filtering the noise level?
it was loud from where i was...
It was plenty loud, unless you mean when we had the ball. It doesn't make sense to be loud then we got enough false starts as it was.
No more noon games!!!

That game was actually very loud, it just doesn't sound loud on TV. I think ABC toned down the crowd noise just like BTN always does.

Thanks for the update. I couldn't imagine it not being loud. How did the Quick Cals go?
They were terrific! It was SO loud on the field, I couldn't hear myself think! Go Bucks!
Maybe because the windchill in the 20's

I did notice that. I could hear a lot of clapping, however it sounded like a 105,000 person pillow fight. I lulzed

I can assure you it was loud anytime it was needed. Anyone that says otherwise wasnt there. It wasnt Texas 05, but we got the job done.
It was definitely loud. Sat in Block-O south and it was definitely a very loud game with a lot fo intensity.

I sat near Block-O north and I agree. Very loud. Not Nebraska loud, but very loud.

Two words: noon game. The wind chill didn't help.
I was there it was loud but it's hard to keep up the noise when the teams playing sloppy
