Four teams with a winning (above .500) record and one of those is Vanderbilt...and something called Georgia South? The fact is Georgia wasn't just beaten; they were blown out by South Carolina. I can see no logic in having them in the position their in.
I was listening to my Sirius Sports station and they mentioned the fact they played no one from SEC West (LSU Bama or even Arkansas) so it just got me rhinking how they struggled against Kentucky How good they really are and why the AP And Sagarrin rates them so high?
Basically riding on the goodwill of beating Florida who, I begrudgingly must admit, have beaten 4 teams rated highly by the polls and the computers. Though that loss to South Carolina still looks ugly. The thought of a team getting blasted by 28 and still being considered a national title contender sickens me.
35-7 disgusts me as well. I don't have a problem with a loss if its close, but Georgia was flat blown out and embarassed.
Remember when we were dropped from the title conversation after losing 35-3 to USC in 2008; kinda funny how the same favor hasn't been paid to Georgia!
I think he was saying OSU was dropped from the discussion after the USC loss and before the loss at the end of the season. So the point would still stands.
One of my buddies posted his normal Ohio state hate on Facebook about how we would lose 5 in sec (UC fan). I posted Georgia schedules and asked him to show me the 5 loses. They played 2 real games, south Carolina and Florida and split the 2. In fact south Carolina whooped their asses. That is the path to the national semis.
They only played against 6 teams with winning records this season. We played against 8. but clearly the SEC teams play against tougher competition, right?...RIGHT!?
Uhhh........who has ALABAMA played? I'm not saying that we played a top schedule....but I just beg the talking heads and so-called experts to take a closer look at other teams schedules to avoid applying their double standards to OSU.
Not saying we can beat Bama but its all about perspective:
1. Big difference playing Michigan at the beginning of the season when Denard is their full time QB. I think Michigan is a lot better with Gardner throwing it back there.
2. That game could have easily been 37-21 or 40-21. Not much different from the Bama score.
So what? We beat them too and could have beaten them worse if we capitalized on anything in the second half. So they beat LSU, UM, and ???? Miss St? You want to give them MissSt? You better give us credit for UCF then, or NEB, or Wisc, or PSU, or MSU. Also, if you want to compare, let's look at losses.
Let's not forget dropping a little poo on Western Kentucky, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, The Mississippi's, Missouri, Tennessee, Western Carolina, Auburn, then pinching one out with LSU before realizing they were constipated by T A&M. Wow, truly a $hitty year for the Elephants. They're awesome!!
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
And again, I'm not trying to argue who is better. I am merely stating that for all of the dirt being kicked up about OSU's schedule, I'm at a loss as to why and how other top teams get a free pass or don't get the scrutiny
According to the NCAA, we've played 6 bowl eligible teams. If you count Penn St. as bowl eligible (they did surpass the required win total), OSU has played 7 bowl eligible teams (and beat them all).
Here it is the all mighty SEC has had to schedule all this tuff FBS schools to play and they play all there tough games at the front of there schedule. Look at most (75%) of the SEC schedules and you will see they play alot of there tough Conference games at the start of there seasons so if they lose they have a chance to work there way back. 10% of the Sec will not play no one out side the south becouse they think that everyone should come to them cause of 6 straight titles. this is the only time i will want ND to win a game and that is againest BAM/UGA. time for the SEC to come back to reality. I think this might be the year for it.
1 Bad thing about living in the south is that the SEC does everything perfect. A team from the SEC beat Vandy tough game/ Northwestern beats Vandy and you get a Com on man they are they worst team in the sec. This crap will not change till the all mighty SEC gets skull drug through the bowl games.
I despise this whole comparing conferences and comptetition level and all that crap. It's so dumb and pointless. You've got folks talking about losses and how certain losses are better than other losses and how a loss in the SEC is expected because it's so difficult to play in the conference and get through unscathed.
I had a friend of mine who is a delusional Tennessee fan (a guy who told me they would win a national title under Kiffin and also a guy who liked the Dooley hire) tell me that he believes OSU would be like the 8th best team in the SEC, to which I replied "Yeah and Tennessee will probably have to settle for their 8th choice as their next head coach."
Ohio State, naturally. The Buckeyes finished a perfect 12-0 season by beating their archrival, Michigan, at home. That's a pretty good week. Lots of people want to knock Ohio State for its schedule, and understandably. According to the NCAA, the Buckeyes have played only the 65th-toughest schedule in the country. That's not far off from Georgia (No. 60), which is getting an awful lot of love from some pollsters.
B-b-b-but, Georgia is in the SEC! This is a perfect example of SEC bias and propaganda. Ohio State catches flak all season long for their "weak" schedule, yet Georgia plays basically the same one but LOSES a game by a ton. Georgia has one marquee win, over a fraud of a Florida team. We beat the #12 in the country by 25 and also fropped SIXTY on them. No ones gives Ohio State any credit for that, though.
Yes, they have several wins against highly ranked teams, most of which had no business being ranked as high as they were. Let's take a look:
1. Texas A&M - This is a really good win; A&M's first SEC game.
2. #23 Tennessee - UT had no business being ranked. Terrible team.
3. #4 LSU - On paper this is a good win, butLSU is ranked this high right now based on reputation and conference affiliation. They've looked awful in several games.
4. #7 South Carolina. - Another good win on paper, probably on par with our win against Nebraska.
5. #10 FSU - If you believe that Florida State is a legit top 10 team, I don't know what to tell you. Two wins against FCS teams and one win against anyone with a pulse (Clemson).
Also, Florida has several lifeless wins against Kentucky, Bowling Green, Missouri (14-7; really?), Louisiana-Lafayette (won last second on a fluke punt block) and Jacksonville State.
Florida is a good team, but there is no way they're national championship quality. I think this tough schedule is more a result of constantly overrating SEC teams.
I hate Florida, but they are legit. I woud rank them ahead of Bama and UGA. Their defense could be the best in the country and they have the most quality wins of anyone I have seen. Their offense is not great, but Driskel has been improving through the year and their running back is tough. I'm not going to criticize their close wins because then I would have to criticize OSU for half our wins.
The a$$ whipping they put on Louisiana Lafayette is the main reason that I have them high on the list. The way they sandbagged for the entire game, just so they could block the punt and return it to win the game. Come on, thats awesome!! How about how the Gators chomped on those Cocks!! Never seen anything like that. Go Gaturds!!!

Dont you love it when fans from teams in Non-SEC conferences always bring up the SEC argument. This always boggles my mind.

Bama took a giant crap on the team that we narrowly defeated on Saturday
Not saying we can beat Bama but its all about perspective:

M Tot. That says alot. How many Bowl elgible teams have we played 6?
According to the NCAA, we've played 6 bowl eligible teams. If you count Penn St. as bowl eligible (they did surpass the required win total), OSU has played 7 bowl eligible teams (and beat them all).
Alabama beats Michigan - HUGE WIN - way to schedule a national power OOC
Oho State beats Michigan - They suck

Explain how FL is a fraud? They have by far the most marquee wins of any team this year.
Yes, they have several wins against highly ranked teams, most of which had no business being ranked as high as they were. Let's take a look:
