Ohio State's 2012 senior class will be leaving with mixed emotions, mostly due to sanctions brought down as a result of poor decisions made by a few former teammates. That being said, this senior class also deserves a tremendous amount of respect for staying committed to the program. They knew there would be no bowl, Big Ten Championship, or possible National Championship at the end of the proverbial rainbow. They stayed but for love of their school, their teammates and the tradition of their great university and they will always have our gratitude for their unselfish dedication. Oh yeah, some of them happen to be damn fine football players, too.
Who will you miss most? Sabino? Boren? Williams? I think I'll miss John Simon the most, simply because I love his effort, leadership and the all-out havoc he created on the field. Take his 4 huge sacks and countless QB hurries out of last week's game, and I think we're left with a different outcome. Nathan Williams is another player that I'll miss, mostly because injuries prevented him from perhaps being one of the all-time greats at Ohio State. What about you?

I don't know if I could pick just one. This is possibly my favorite senior class ever.
2002 has always been my favorite senior class, but this year's class is right behind them. It is really a shame that these guys won't get the chance to play for the championship. God knows they certainly deserve it.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
I can't pick one but I'll pick three...

Nathan Williams, for me. He would have been ridiculous if not for the injury. As it is, he's still always a factor and seems to make big plays.
Going to miss this whole class though.
I remember the 2010 "showdown" with highly-ranked Miami. Nathan was in full-on beast mode that game. He was one of the better OSU D-linemen in recent memory, when healthy. Will miss him a ton.

I also can't pick just one senior...
1. John Simon- for his leadership and tenacity on defense while helping to mentor younger players and be a leader in a time of difficulty for the team.
1a. Zach Boren- A hard-nosed solid player that did one of the most selfless acts by switching positions his senior year to help his team.
Both players will go down as two of my all-time favorites!
Ill go with Reid Fragel bc had he be switched earlier would prob be the top T in next years draft will still be picked very high but the dedication to transform your body while learning a new position in a matter of months is astounding to me. This entire senior class will always be held in high regard for me bc they couldve transferred but didnt that to me shows the love for tOSU and as a fan I cannot ask for more.
John Simon and Zach Boren
John Simon. Very rare that you get a player with his sort of motor. Different position of course, but reminds me a lot of James Laurinaitis in the sense that it seemed like JL was in on EVERY play. Simon similarly seems to have very few games (when healthy, or at least as healthy as he's been able to be) where he doesn't dramatically effect the game. The Wisconsin game was almost entirely dictated by he and Shazier on defense.
I'll miss the ones that played football for Ohio State.
Without minimizing the contributions of any senior, I'd have to say I'll miss Nathan Williams the most. The stuff he's had to go through to get to where he is and the level at which he's played just amaze me. That said, I hope John Simon (destroyer of worlds) ends up on my Steelers...

I don't know why this class will be leaving with mixed emotions, these guys weren't the ones who caused the problems. These guys are the ones who stuck it out in spite of other peoples wrong doings...these guys are the ones who understand what it means to be a BUCKEYE and stuck around to right the ship. Every Buckeye fan owes each one of these guys a beer (after their collegiate career is over of course).
Love these guys!!! Every freaking one of them!!!

I agree with you. Maybe I didn't articulate my thoughts properly; I guess I mean more of a sense of "what could have been" (Big Ten champions, possible National Champs, etc). I will always remember this team and what they stand for. These guys are Ohio State Buckeyes to the core and we as fans will always cherish this season, regardless of what did or didn't happen.

Denard Robinson
Um, I'm actually pretty new here, but I'm already getting the sense that you aren't ACTUALLY a Buckeye, right?
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
I'm gonna hope he meant Denard in the sense that he gave TSUN a lot of losses. But for me it's gotta be Simon, Williams, and Boren.
if u dont have a special place in your heart for simon and boren, you are a commie
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
Boren is absolutely the one I'll miss the most and really I think the team will miss him the most too. He is unquestionably a leader. He does what is best for the team all the time, and the other guys have seen this and bought in. This special season is a result of guys like Boren buying into what Urban was selling.
I remember one week of summer camp Urban said this is going to be the hardest week of camp they've ever had. It'll make or break the season for us. It was because of the leaders like Boren and the rest of this senior class buying in that we've had such a special year.
John Simon. John Simon. John Simon..and John Simon.

John Simon, without a doubt, I'll miss the rest of the class too, but Simon is definitely the one I'll miss most. If the NFL doesn't work out(hope that it will) maybe Coach Meyer will hire him on the Strength and Conditioning Staff....Go Bucks!!
It sounds like a good idea but John will make a good living in the NFL I think. If anything bring him back as a D-line coach..considering he's played every position on the line during his career here.

Lets see...
Travis Howard, Jake Stoneburner, Garrett Goebel, Eteinne Sabino, Storm Klein, Reid Fragel.
Not to be mean or anything but that's not much to really "miss", on the field wise. John Simon is the "lock" pick here.
i somehow forgot Boren, I will Truely miss that kid!

I don't know why anyone would minimize the blood, sweat and tears, 5 AM workouts, getting the crap beat out of you at practice, sacrificing all the time they have, etc. Each one of the seniors will be missed. I don't care if they were an all american or a bench warmer. Thank you Seniors, I will miss all of you.
That's a given and we all appreciate that..I picked mine based upon who will missed as far as their play on the field through 4 years.

all of them.
