I thought I'd start a thread with progress updates for the weekend. We get updates from Derek, Miles, and Alex about player visits, but those of us who see the recruit reactions on twitter can also add input for the rest of us to see and get an idea of how things are going. I'll start it off, feel free to add anything anyone can find on the subject.
- Jamarco Jones, '14 OL: "At Ohio State", "Having a nice visit so far", "About to go to this OSU basketball game".
- Drew Barker '14 QB: "Ohio State tomorrow is going to be crazy! Probably the best rivalry in all of college sports!"
- JT Barrett '13 committed QB: "Landed in Columbus, glad having my feet touching the ground, about to get something to eat"
- Mikel Horton '14 RB: "Osu tomorrow, can't wait"
- Trey Johnson '13 LB: "OSU bound in the am"
Feel free to add anything more in the comments, I'll bump with more updates myself.
Any news on Knox? I know he is supposed to announce Monday (though I don't know if that ends his recruitment), but has to be considered all UT unless he visits this weekend.
I don't think anyone will know, if/when he hits campus until that time arrives
I know Hurd isn't coming but I heard something from my brother-in-law I found interesting. He is an athletic trainer for the Nashville area and he worked with Beach highschook (where Jalen attends) and got to know Jalen and his family. He said from what he has heard from Jalen and those close to him, he is OSUs to lose. Obviously that doesn't make him a lock to be a Buckeye, but it was good to hear nonetheless.
He made public that OSU is the leader, so they just need to impress that to him with every visit and correspondance.
Also, Hurd is coming to the game, just double checked.
Myles Autry is NOT visiting as originally plan, will be at Georgia instead
Just saw this, and it's a bummer but if OSU is truly his dream school, it doesn't much matter. He's got over a year to take visits.
At least James Quick will be there, closing the '13 class needs more focus right now, Autry can visit next years game.
Next year will be in Ann Arbor, which isn't preferable, so I'm assuming you mean any game.
Whatever works for him, but I would still go and experience The Game.
He better sit in the visiting section haha
If he were to go to The Shoe, his best bet probably would be to attend the Wisconsin game

Nick Glass is out too it seems, Jalen Hurd still a go for The Game
Never got the feeling we were a strong contender to flip Glass from UGA. Obviously a lot can happen in over a year but it would have been nice to have McMillain, Autry, and Glass together from Georgia to bond while being at OSU.
There's still other times that this could happen like the Spring Game and FNL next year (which honestly should be a very good oppourtunity to get OOS prospects to visit as it is during the summer as long as the date doesn't collide with another big camp like it did last year)

Dgrubbs did Hurd change mind in last couple days for visiting the game. Every list of recruits for game Hurd will be at the game.
This may be completely wrong, but, I have an incredibly strong feeling that Demetrius Knox is in Columbus. I understand that you cannot take Twitter for gospel, but he has been making pro OSU comments in referance to THE GAME, he has quite a few pictures of him in Buckeye gear, and he refuses to admit to which game he is attending TODAY, and well folks Texas played Thursday...
Also why wait till the Monday after THE GAME to announce??

2014 OL Sam Mustipher has been VERY pro-buckeye today. To summarize, he has made numerous "go bucks" tweets and the like, says "loved columbus, definitely coming back", and in a conversation with a follower when asked about a commitment, he says "the world may never know". Definitely think we're in the top group for this kid now.

Drew Barker says Tom Herman and he talked after the game. Herman is going to Texas next week to finish 2013 stuff and then coming to Drew's school the week after. He didn't know what that meant, but that's what Herman told him.also said he sat with Raekwon, Garrett, etc., and 2013 commits and they talked about playing together. Offer maybe?

It's a shame a few potential recruits couldn't make the trip due to playoff games. But nothing you can do about them leading their teams to victories. Just hope Urban can close on some of these blue chippers.

@Woodshed: That's the million dollar question. He's always been a HUGE Ohio State fan (moved to Texas from Ohio iirc), BUT the OZONE guys believe he's firmly Texas. So I'd say if he wasn't at the game today, he's all Texas despite what the tweets may lead us to believe.
He's said before he wants his commitment to be a surprise (so he could be trying to butter up the OSU fans a little so they don't un-follow him after he chooses Texas monday haha).
Yeah, that is what I figured. I have to think he was not there. If he was there, there is no way that someone would not have made it public by now. Too many people there.
