The "weasels" are insisting that David Dawson came "crawling back" and tried talking to Shane Morris and Hill, and pleaded for his "spot" back >> http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=162&f=2019&t=10475764
Oh how I love Meatchicken and how they love to play the "thou are holy-er than thy" card.
LOL

Thats not what i'm gathering from his Twitter feed.
"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got nine guys who better go do it again. Do it a little harder next time." -- Urban Frank Meyer -- I LOVE THIS DUDE!! :)
Do tell Katz -- I don't use Twitter much.
The "if we didn't get him it's because we didn't want him" attitude across any fan-base is kind of grating.
One thing I'd say people often forget about recruits, is that they're largely 17 and 18 year olds, and not a lot of people have a completely definitive life-plan at that age (I certainly didn't). When they're recruited they create relationships with coaches, other recruits, etc. and I imagine it can be hard for them to let that go even if they make a decision to go in another direction. With that in mind, I wouldn't doubt he's probably had second thoughts about moving on from Michigan, given that he's probably created a lot of good friends there. But hopefully he'll create new friends at OSU (or MSU if he chooses to go there) and will ultimately be happy with his decision.
First I've heard of it. If I had to guess (if any of it is remotely true), I'd say he just expected Florida to be several notches above Michigan and once he actually got down there, realized the grass isn't really greener in the swamp. Who knows? Maybe someone at Michigan really pissed him off and he said the hell with M.

But he can't come crawling back, his spot was taken away and he is no longer welcome according to the rules set forth by hoke. If they were to bend those rules for one player, wouldn't they have to bend them for everyone? I'm sure they wouldn't want to be hypocrites about it, would they...
In reply to Katz's post above, I do recall seeing a retweet where Dawson said JT Barrett was going to be the next Braxton Miller.
Actually Oyster, technically the rule would allow him to recommit if no one had taken his spot while he was uncommitted. The rule is just that they won't hold that spot for you if you want to go on other visits. So unless Hoke no longer wants him (unclear to me at this point, except that he already has eleventyhundred other OLinemen committed) he could still recommit.
Hoke's rule doesn't necessarily rescind the offer, just the committment. In Pharoah Brown's case he visited without telling the staff and I think that is what got his offer revoked. If Dawson did something similar (I don't know if he did) then it is possible his offer was also revoked.
RDUBS,
From what I read in the FREEP, he had committed already. So by taking a visit, the offer is now revoked.

Rdubs is closer to right than wrong (This has been discussed in the last 2-3 weeks repeatedly, btw).
The thing with Dawson is that he did not tell the coaches he was going to visit. The Michigan coaches found out from someone on the Florida staff the week before Dawson made the visit. Apparently, if the kids don't make an effort to let the coaches know the situation, the offer is rescinded. Conley, on the other hand...if he makes his visit and realizes he wants to go to Michigan he could possibly have a spot still if the coaches feel there is a scholarship spot for him (likely if other potential commits don't go to Michigan).

I'm sure he asked, to say he came CRAWLING back is silly. Either way, he is a 17 year old kid (I consider 21 year olds kids BTW) who didn't think things through. Big deal... but I can understand that if the rules are the way they are that Hole will stick fast so that other recruits think things through better.
I actually don't mind the rule. How can you be "committed" yet still visiting other schools? It is not that crazy of a rule if you think about it.
I'm trying the hardest to stop following/caring about recruiting. I'll look on signing day.
I understand we're talking about 17/18 year old teenagers. But you have to wonder if the average maturity level of top250 players can top the 25th percentage of their age group.
Stuff they do are annoying and pathetic. More pathetic though are the adults sometimes......
And yes that includes recruits / commits from every school including ours.
**my apologies to the junior and senior D1 prospects that are class acts.
@KSparkle
I wonder if you get to deal with or see most teenagers where a lot of these recruits come from or even teenagers in general. Some have little no no parental support or guidance, some have too much. 17 year olds do not have the life experience to handle becoming the center of adults media lust on every tweet they make. Heck, most adults don't have that. It is all about expectations, which in most cases are extremely too high.
I mean, of the thousands of recruits, we see a handful of "interesting" situations that make you wonder. That to me seems better than what I would expect.
