Did anyone else catch UFM yanking a towel out of the hands from who I think was R Smith? It was toward the end of the game. UFM seemed to be quite jovial as he was hugging Big Hank. He then walked over to the bench, grabbed the towel, and turned and threw it. He seemed to be quite displeased with whomever it was on the bench.

I missed the game on TV. Did R. Smith have another fumble?
Urban didn't look happy the whole game
O H I O is the Buckeye State
@ Buckskin - Yes, unfortunately he did have another fumble. In his defense though, he took a pretty big hit when he fumbled. Other than that one mistake, R Smith played a great game.
“We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother.”
I remember him grabbing the towel but i just thought it was Urban messing around with his players.
I asked about this in the chat group. I'm 99% sure he was half upset with rod but joking at the same time. We were up 30 I don't think anything at that time could've made him that upset
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
I think you are looking to deep into this. Rod fumbled yes but I bet if you gave that guy 10 tries to put his helmet right in that perfect spot, that was the only time he was going to be able to do that. The kid had a HUGE TD catch so with a huge lead it would be hard to be angry with the kid.
He played Rod after the fumble so I don't think Urban was too mad
I noticed the exact same thing as OP. He looked intensely angry. It was hard to read the situation because they only focused on Meyer and not the player (whoever it was), but he did not look jovial or happy in that exchange.
You sure that wasn't christian bryant? He was sitting next to roby...that's why I would say its bryant. The whole db thing.
That really stupid defensive penalty would have ticked me off as the coach regardless of the score. So my guess is it was based on that if he was seriously pissed because it doesn't matter what the score is when you make dumb mistakes like that.
Urban mentioned in his presser that he wasn't happy with THE guy on defense that had a couple stupid penalties. He then said they would have to sit down together and have a talk about it because it was unacceptable. At the time I did not know whether he was talking about Bryant or Williams. Williams had two stupid flags as well.
It was Roby and Bryant. They were all three laughing. He was joking around. Your thinking WAY to much into this.
Georgia, I didn't see Coach Meyer laughing at that time. I do recall being ticked at Bryant for stupid penalties during the game, so I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Meyer was referring to Bryant when he said he was going to have a talk with somebody.
Urban seemed a little ticked off the whole game. I don't think I saw him smile one time. Even in his presser he didn't seem too thrilled. Something seemed a bit amiss.
Beth Mowins (Thinks thats the dike's name) even made a comment on air saying "There's a smile finally!" or something of that nature at the time. Btw, who else is sick of listening to her commentating the games? Im not sexist, but I hate the idea of having a woman broadcaster doing college football games.
It was Rod Smith, I DVR'd the game and had to rewind to see who it was, I said to my Father-In-Law: Urban does NOT look happy with Mr. Smith.
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
@GeorgiaB I felt the same way a couple of years ago about women invading a man's world of sports. I am not opposed to it now and have accepted it. Some women genuinely are really knowledgeable about the game and add a lot to it just like 11W's Elika. The only woman I don't like is Erin Andrews.
I think he was genuinely upset, not raging, however I think that is the kind of perfection that Urban is striving for. If you mess up in a blowout, multiple times, don't be laughing about it.
It was Christian Bryant sitting next to Roby that Meyer was not pleased with. If you go back and watch the film you will see #2 was wearing black tape on his right wrist and Rod Smith did not wear any tape on his right wrist.
Bryant did have 2 costly penalties on 3rd down earlier in the game that Illinois 1st downs.
Who cares honestly. lol
Yeah it was Christian Bryant and it wasn't a joke Urban wasn't happy about it at all. Don't think it is a big deal though.

I think he was messing with Rod Smith at the end of the game cuz of his earlier fumble. To Rod Smiths defense the guy had a perfect tackle and put his helmet right on the ball
It was Christian Bryant. Look at his profile:

The 2012 National Champions.
The problems with Bryant are getting old anyways. If it isnt for these dumb penalties, its for the simple fact that he is STILL going for the big hit and not the wrap up. This dude still doesnt get it. Its annoying to see him do this week after week while everyone else on defense is out there sticking to the script.
It would be nice if he could actually catch some of those dropped int's too.
