I live in Kentucky and will just say this - whenever UK decides to put the same emphasis on football that they do on basketball, they will begin to put a good program together. John Calipari gets treated like a king and Joker gets treated like a leper - by the same AD.
Joker's a decent guy but UK football this year is about as bad as football gets!
Thank God I was born a Buckeye fan! OSU has been a great sports program my entire life, great fans, great teams, great players!
I heard on espn radio few days ago Uk needs 200 millon dollars of. Renovactions to the football staduim. In kentucky a bond for public work on staduim. There Norway the tax payers will this bond.
@OSUforlife - yep you're spot on. The UK fans love football but they aren't going to pony up anymore money for what they've been getting from their football program. They'd probably all donate a kidney for the basketball program.
I'm no Louisville fan but their approach is just the opposite of UKs. Charlie Strong is rumored to be getting paid a salary that's in the top 10 of all BCS school coaches and Lord knows what Rick Pitino gets paid - mysteriously both their football and basketball programs are doing pretty well.
Football is not a priority at UK and hasn't been for a very long time. They lost Bear Bryant because of it and will never be a top tier program because of it.
A good coach can change a lot of things. Granted the coach needs talent but it can happen. Theres other SEC schools that Kentucky can pass up. Heck I remember not to long ago they beat national champion LSU the same year the Buckeyes lost to them.
It would be good but I dont think The AD would have the Nads that would take. Now if the roles were reversed and it was Louisvilles AD looking and Petino (I mean Petrino) had previously coached at UK the Louisville AD would pull that string and make it happen.
wow, I was half-serious/half-joking - but it looks like that may be the case. UK wouldn't say not to Petrino, i.m.h.o., if he really wanted to go there.
But hey, they beat Kent State!

Calipari can coach football too.

Sept. 15 40-34 Louisville Lexington
Sept. 22 42-29 Arkansas Fayetteville
Sept. 29 45-17 Florida Atlantic Lexington
Oct. 4 23-38 South Carolina Columbia
Oct. 13 43-37 LSU* Lexington
Oct. 20 37-45 Florida Lexington
wasnt that long ago they beat Auburn lost to.Alabama by 3 and a last second loss to LSU These are the same years we got hammered by SEC.
That is actually a solid win over Kent State, I don't see why Kentucky can't be a two sport school.
The said thing uk gets around 3o million dollars for sec football tv rights money.
I think it'd be funny if Bobby Petrino ended up at Kentucky, being the former rival Louisville coach.

I guess this...........
Is no Joking matter.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off

Never though Joker Philips looked like a guy who would be named "Joker"... Lane Kiffen and Les Miles look like their names could be Joker.
