With these moves, I completely expect schools like Cincinnati, South Florida, UConn, Louisville to publicly look for other alternatives. This conference cannot survive, can it??
I feel sorry for the Big East. They're a crap conference struggling for legitimacy and their best teams have all but left. It's like they're trying their best to become a four-lane highway conference, and yet they are settling for Tulane...
In all fairness, The B1G did steal away their two biggest Blue Chip prospects last week. What else do you expect them to do after such a devastating blow?
This just in... The Big East is debating whether or not to invite Mount Union College into their conference as a football only participant. The factual basis of this report is yet to be verified...
I feel pretty awful for Boise State. Seems like every conference they've tried to join all the half-decent teams leave. Joined the MWC, Utah and BYU leave. Big East and now it's being ripped apart. Wonder where they'll go from here.
Their move to grab the all important New Orleans market.
Its more about travel for the players. Everyone knows a trip to Bourbon Street just before the game is an extremely beneficial move.

ECU also joining the Big East as a football only member.

Yeah Cincy and Louisville to the MAC where they belong

The B1G took Rutgers from the BE. Maryland is from the ACC.

I was mainly referring to West Virginia going to the Big 12, Syracuse and Pitt heading to the ACC, & Rutgers heading to the B1G.
Excuse me, I'm going to go throw up while taking a giant dump at the same time. You think it's crazy? The Big East is doing it, too.

East Carolina and Tulane are joing the big east according to yahoo.
I still don't understand why East Carolina. Tulane is a raw market with good recruiting potential, but East Carolina? It's in the middle of nowhere!

I think East Carolina is mostly for name recognition since they always seem to pull off an upset against the ACC or SEC at least once a year.

This move by the Big East was made because of Tulane's recent resounding success in football and basketball. The Green Wave just dominate.

So, basically, Conference USA is changing its name to the Big East?
Also, what happens to Marshall, UAB, S. Miss, Tulsa, Rice, and UTEP? Do they merge with the Sun Belt?
With the exception of Tulsa, the Sun Belt is now superior to Conf USA.
Pathetic really

Waiting to see teams from the MAC getting pulled to a different Conference.
Is the MAC above or below C-usa? I think this year they might have been even.
