Well now that I think about it, every team in front of us had legitiment wins. But I still wonder what our chances are/what has to happen for us to win a title?
Just have to root for the B1G to dominate the bowls.... Or at least Nebraska showing up in the BCS. Wish we'd square off against the ACC more in the bowl season...
I like the 12-0 season. A B1G title game would have helped our cause, but being banned from postseason play doomed any shot we had when it was announced. Not to mention the B1G as a whole sucked Brady Hoke this year.
Not a chance......the media powers that be, have been, and continue to, beat the drums to see that it doesn't happen. The pure (leaders in media) hate and bias against OSU has been on display ever since the clock hit zero on Saturday and money is the root of it all. Funny stuff to hear them rag on the Big Ten expansion because of money, when their negative, bias, disgusting storylines, headlines and reporting is all driven by the same thing. Bottom line is that OSU is perfect and they cannot control it.......love it! Go Bucks!
Best we can do is #2. I will be rooting for Georgia to beat Alabama and ND, so we would be the only undefeated and Alabama doesnt win another title. In this scenario, I think we would at least get a few #1 votes.
You need to switch an SEC team out of your BCS bowls, a given conference can only have 2 teams reach the BCS so the SEC couldn't have Bama, Georiga and Florida all playing in BCS games.
I don't see us passing either ND or Alabama, but neither Georgia or Oregon have a claim to be ranked higher than us imho. Georgia lost badly to SC and Oregon hasn't beaten anyone ranked higher than Nebraska. I see us ending at #3 which is ok - unfortunately we need a stronger schedule in the future.
Boy, it's hard to be upset by anything this year given where we were 11 months ago! If you would've told me we'd be 12-0, sitting #4 in the AP back in January, I'd say you were out of your mind!
No shot at the AP title. It will likely be Notre Dame vs Alabama in the BCS. Whoever wins that game will finish #1 in both polls. Even if its somehow Notre Dame vs. Georgia, and even if Georgia were to somehow win, I STILL think Georgia would finish atop both polls.
All of the media members I've heard discuss it were very definitive in the fact that they don't think a team on probation should get an AP title. So I don't think there's anything we could have done this year that would have allowed us to move into #1. We would have needed 2 losses from every other team, I'm guessing to have a legitimate shot.
Gotta love Josh Kendall putting us at #12. I would like to hear him explain how he can have a 2-loss Oklahoma who has only beaten 1 ranked team (#24 Oklahoma State) ahead of an undefeated Ohio State with wins over 2 ranked teams (#14 Nebraska, #21 Michigan).
Ohio State can play with any team in the country on any field in any atmosphere or weather conditions. The "weak SOS" argument can go out the window. Everyone has a weak schedule except Florida.
This team is at least 1 (maybe 2) years away. UM took an ok team and made them contenders. I'm satified with this year's results. The expectations next year will increase - and they should . . .

It just doesn't matter to me. 12-0. Michigan's 1-game win streak against us came to an end. I'm happy.
No shot at AP title. We may get one or 2 first place votes, but that is the extent of praise we will get for 2012.
The 2012 season is over for the Buckeye Football team.
Time to get ready for August 31, 2013.

This is how I see it playing out:
SEC Championship Game - Georgia defeats Alabama
Pac-12 Championship Game - Stanford defeats UCLA
ACC Championship Game - Florida State defeats Georgia Tech
BIG TEN Championship Game - Nebraska defeats Wisconsin
BCS Championship Game - Georgia defeats Notre Dame
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl - Oregon defeats Kansas State
Allstate Sugar Bowl - Florida defeats Oklahoma
Discover Orange Bowl - Alabama defeats Florida State
Rose Bowl - Stanford defeats Nebraska
1. Georgia 13-1
2. Florida 12-1
3. Oregon 12-1
4. Ohio State 12-0
5. Alabama 12-2
6. Stanford 12-2
Florida and Oregon jump us with impressive wins in their bowls.
You forgot ND in your rankings, unless you see them falling below 6 with 1 loss.
Oh yeah they will be 5th in front of Bama

Such as Rutgers or Louisville the Big East champ... Orange Bowl.

They can put OSU wherever they want. Just sets the table for next year, where Urban and co. get their rightful voice in the postseason.
Love the fact this year's team won every game they could. I'll take it.

Not a a chance but, I don't care.
tOSU is undefeated in UFM's first season!
Preseason I was think 10-2 would be tops. I just didn't see tOSU beating MSU and Neb.
However, they proved me wrong and glad they did!
I would like to see some of the players and coaches get some awards though.
They deserve any recognition they get.
There will be some that will down vote OSU because of the ban.

I won't be upset if we don't get number 1. I will be upset if anyone passes us or a 2 loss Alabama is still ahead of us in the event they lose.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
OSU's best wins - Nebraska, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn ST
Georgias best wins - Florida, Vandy, Missouri, Georgia Tech

Notre Dame?

Brutal Brutus
I would think that Urban knows this team better than anyone. He said in the post game that he thinks they could play with anybody right know
