I just wanted everyone's thoughts on how significantly they feel the loss of bowl practice is to the lead up to next year. What can they do within the rules to maintain the momentum as far as team activities?

Players will still work out, play catch, what have you. I'd like to hope that Braxton and the LBs will be diligently watching film. A lot of their struggles have been bad reads on both sides.
I read somewhere players will be practicing at WHAC throughout the winter without coaches though.
I could be wrong, but I think for health and safety reasons, the training staff has access throughout
It is big, especially with our young offensive guys who need to make some strides and the defense will be losing a bunch of guys in the 2 deep. If you want a silver lining, the coaches can focus on recruiting for 2014 and beyond...
It hurts
It's bullshit that only bowl eligible teams get those extra practices - every team in CFB should get the same number of practices.
I heard Urban say that we need to find a way to make up for those missed practices. I am sure they will come up with something. It may not be as productive as actual practices, but it will be something. I'm just hoping this next class is just as committed as this years class. More than the practices, we desperately need that commitment to 'competitive excellence'. This '12 team is a special team and I pray the '13 team is just as special
15 bowl practices
5 Big10 Championship practices
40 to 60 hours of field time, as I see it.
Maybe the Buckeyes can solidify themselves in the classroom and weightroom. There will be no catastrophic injuries suffered through game play. Maybe the Buckeye players and coaches can get together and focus on other bowl games being played, discuss strategies and learn things that way.
All is not lost. There are ways to get better.
We need a strong leader to organize these guys and make sure EVERYONE is working hard. Hopefully that's Braxton. I'm in agreement that all schools, eligible or not, should benefit from the extra work. After all, how are they to improve? Just something I started thinking about. Appreciate the feedback. GO BUCKEYES!! BEAT scUM!!
