Even at 11-0 Sagarin's computer poll still only has us ranked at 16th.

USC is ranked 15th. USC is 7-4.

Hard to argue with strength of schedule and how close almost all games have been. Computer rankings are based on forumlas, nothing we've done this season shows well in any formula anyone would make up.

I think "wins and losses" is pretty easy to put into a formula! :-)

Agree Menexenus -- 11-0 carries a helluva lot more weight than 7-4, I don't care what your schedule looks like. This isn't comparing us to maybe someone like Notre Dame. If ND lost a game with that gauntlet of a schedule I could see them still being ranked ahead of us, but USC has lost 4 games! FOUR!! Definitely demonstrates that the Sagarin rankings are meaningless.

I'm still baffled why everyone still says notre dames schedule is so tough. Starting the season it was tough on paper then the season started.

vs. Navy sucks
vs. Purdue sucks
at Michigan State sucks
vs. Michigan denard arm punts. They are much better with Gardner at qb
vs. Miami sucks
vs. Stanford good now
vs. BYU sucks
at Oklahoma terrible d
vs. Pittsburgh lost to Youngstown st
at Boston College sucks
vs. Wake forrest sucks
at USC no Barkley and can't play d

our schedule isn't harder but nd schedule is not a hard schedule looking at it now.

Not according to Sagarin. Notre Dame is at 30 and Alabama is at 39. Unfortunately, we're at 51. :-(

Iowa St., Baylor, Kansas, Texas, Chokelahoma, WVU, Ok St. and ole miss all have tougher schedules than ND.

Have any of you actually ever seen Jeff Sagarin? The dude epitomizes the "40-year old nerd who lives in his mother's basement" I doubt the guy has ever actually played a sport other than chess club and ever had the luxury of having a flesh-in-blood willing girlfriend. He may be a math wiz and have a super-sophisticated computer model, but I put as much stock in this guy as I do a dead horse being able to fly a stealth bomber (i.e. NONE)

One thing I remain perplexed by, why in the name of hell do the college football powers that be use his computer model to come up with the BCS rankings? Who did he pay or whom did he pleasure to get that honor? Why him?

Sagarin's rankings are a joke. I'm sorry, maybe 'stats don't lie', but last week we were ranked 20th, but Nebraska was ranked 19th? Last I checked (and saw in person) we embarrassed them with a 63-38 spanking. I'm just surprised people even care about his rankings. USC is better than us? Aren't they, uh, unranked now?

Is this the same Florida that came two miracle plays away from being beaten my Louisiana Lafayette? The same Cuse team that lost to Northwestern? The same Georgia team that got badly spanked by SOUTH CAROLINA??? The same South Carolina team that couldn't handle Vanderbilt quite as well as Northwestern? Sagarin's computer still hates us. Now we're 14th, just behind Oklahoma State at 13th. Oklahoma State is 7-4. That is one F-ed up computer! Just sayin'...
