When are coaches not permitted to contact recruits? Furthermore, will our post season ban this season give Urban an edge on closing out this class (i.e. Hanging out with the Mitchell family instead of focusing on bowl prep)? I've never experienced a year that the bucks haven't been in the postseason so my attention to recruiting drops off that time of year. Thanks for your thoughts!

I don't know the dates of the dead periods. Alex would be better to answer that, but I can tell you I have read several articles saying the bowl ban will give UFM an advantage in recruiting time. The downside is the team loses valuable bowl practices, so it's a double edged sword.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
December 17th through January 3rd is the "dead" period. I think they can still have communications with early enrollees.
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
I think this is huge for Urban and the staff... We will have 3 weeks to fly around the country talking to recruits while everyone else is prepping... I know that sounds bad because we aren't in a bowl game, but it does give us an advantage. The staff will be able to devote their full attention to the wants and needs on the recruiting trail.
As CajunBuckeye stated above that is the dead period. We can only talk to early enrollees. The only time we will benefit is from November 25-December 16 since our season will be over. That gives Urban 3 weeks to fully focus on recruiting.
Thanks for clearing that up. 3 weeks for Urban to close out is nice!
