Recruiting Insider | Franklin Co. football's Ryan Timmons in no rush to pick school (courier journal)
FRANKFORT, KY. — Franklin County football star Ryan Timmons is making his second official recruiting visit this weekend, to Purdue — one of a group of Big Ten and Southeastern conference schools drawing the attention of one of the state’s most explosive players.
Timmons, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver/running back/return specialist, had an 80-yard touchdown catch Friday night as the Flyers (11-0) defeated Scott High 48-10 in the first round of the Class 5-A playoffs.
He said he has no favorite and plans to wait until Franklin County’s season ends before making a college decision.
He and his mother left early Saturday for Purdue to watch its game against Penn State, and he already has officially visited Arkansas and unofficially visited the University of Kentucky and Ohio State. All but the Buckeyes have made a scholarship offer.
He plans to also visit Ohio State and Illinois officially at some point and is unlikely to take an official visit to UK because he has been there many times before.
Timmons has multiple other offers from non-BCS conference teams.
UK was the first team to make Timmons an offer, about a year ago, and he is thought to be UK’s top remaining in-state target in the 2013 class. Coach Joker Phillips and assistant Chuck Smith attended a Franklin County game early this season.

Jeb Blazevich talks Ohio State visit
(espn insider)
Jeb Blazevich was in Columbus this weekend for Ohio State's 52-22 win against Illinois. The junior liked what he saw. He also liked the time he spent with Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer
"It was good and just a great conversation between me and Coach Meyer and it went great," the ESPN Watch List tight end from Charlotte (N.C.) Christian said.
Ohio State's success on the field has also impressed Blazevich.

I'm excited to see what Meyer does with Jacobs speed on offense. I feel he's one of the underrated players in our class like Sprinkles.
I did a quick check, and believe that Urban Meyer is coach at Ohio State.

man do i want blazevich...
Happy to get jacobs, but boy does that kid need to take some speech classes
@Rural Meyer: Real talk.
@John Blair: How about that W/L ratio?
"I'm One Bad Buckeye, and I approve this message."
Most important part. In that Timmons article it also went on to say the Buckeyes are still calling him every week!
yes it was a good article, saw it last night before i went to bed. looks like timmons is still in the mix somewhat. and with joker being fired at uk, i doubt timmons will be serious about being a wildcat now
Joker got fired? If Petrino or Tressell gets named who knows?
derp, nevermind
It's been discussed before, if Tressel took a job, he'd get a suspension, but would still benefit.
joker gone, he will finish out season though
i hope uk hires sonny dykes. he was grad assistant in 1997 and wr coach in 1999.
I think it would be a great fit. Tressell with Uk. Hire him NOW and let him get through 2 of the suspended games.
i wouldnt wish the uk job on tressel. i like tresssel.
Sonny dykes only if he brings Tony Franklin along. Sounds like several other good targets as well. Article I just read said Petrino would not be considered.
I wonder if Darrell Hazell would consider the Kentucky job
Tressel can't coach for a few YEARS, not a few games.
His suspension would only be for a few games
Man we are looking pretty good at tight end for the future. Heurman and Vannett are young plus Baugh and hopefully Blazevich.. I know most of the talk has been of the athletes on the outside and rightfully so. But when you combine them with big, athletic tight ends, bruising backs and a dual threat qb, man this offense will be imossible to stop!
Not true. He has a 5 year show cause penalty, but a show-cause doesn't mean he's banned from coaching. He can still be hired by a school within that period, but the school and Tressel would need to jump through NCAA hoops to get the hiring approved and if hired Tressel would take his individual penlaties with him to his new school.
Tressel is a smart man, he will not take the UK job if he is offered. He seems to be very happy doing what he's doing now at Akron, and he's making some nice coin as well. No stress job making six figures, working at your alma mater, or coaching football at Kentucky? Seems like a no brainer.
I had assumed Dawson was already offered by MSU since he told MChung at O-Zone that they have an edge over OSU. Interesting. Thanks Gene
