Stanford has done this the past two years with Oregon. They play well in the 1st half only to get steamrolled in the 2nd. KSU has looked turrible against Baylor but they've at least made it 28-14.

Seems is the key word. My question is whether or not Baylor can win the 2nd half as well, or if KState will outdo them. Oregon is probably going to start revving up. Another note: West Virginia's tackling (or lack thereof) makes me feel a lot better out our's.

Are Oregon fans the most clueless in cfb? From my observations, Duck fans seem to cry the loudest about supposedly being shafted on officiating calls (or non-calls) at those moments when it was pretty obvious that the call was correct. They either don't care or are football-impaired. As bad as LSU or Bama fans can be, the volume of their booing decreases by half when a replay shows that a call that went against their team was actually correct. Not in Eugene.

I don't like to cast aspersions, but honestly, 2/3rds of the Oregon fanbase are fair-weather, Nike and Chip Kelly hype products. If Chip Kelly leaves for the NFL (as many say he inevitably will), I'd be VERY surprised if the vast majority of that fanbase is still there in 5-10 years.
I've been very impressed with Stanford's defense. We'll see if they can keep it close. Their offense has sputtered since their touchdown drive though...as I write this, Stanford fumbled AGAIN. Ugh.

Manziel hasn't been consistent. He is having the best finish but he has not been consistent in big games. Actually Bama was the only big game he played well. His second halfs against LSU and Florida were not anywhere close to Heisman numbers

I don't know. My SEC hate runs much deeper than hoping the SEC NC streak is interupted for 1-2 years. In terms of the long war, another SEC rematch might not be so bad. It contributes to oversaturation of the eSECpn brand and begins to make even non-SEC-hater casual fans wretch. A back-to-back all-SEC CG is so absurd - especially this year - that maybe it becomes a "careful what you wish for" scenario for SEC power brokers. Hell, if the SEC front office is smart, they'll lobby the pollsters to ensure that only one SEC team gets into the NCG. But they won't, and redneck pride kills.
Yup, Stanford is in the driver's seat in the North, has to beat UCLA next week in order to force a rematch with UCLA in the Pac-12 title the following week (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If Stanford loses, and Oregon wins, Oregon wins the North.
