I was watching the Longhorn channel last night when bottom banner about Saban. It said Texas will offer Saban a 10 year contract woth 100 million to be ther next coach.

I saw rumblings of a deal for Saban as well. The numbers I saw were about $7m/year, which Alabama could sure match. $10m/year is a ridiculous amount though; if that indeed happened, I would assume Alabama would let him walk and sign Kirby Smart for much less. Saban is a good coach, but that's insane.

Well, we all know Saban is a mercenary. He hires himself out to the highest bidder. If Texas has the cash and there is any truth to this at all he's gone. This will help loosen the SEC's stranglehold on the MNC.

I would much rather see the NCAA give student athletes a $500 / month stipend than see a coach in an Amatuer sport receive anything near that. Believe me if the top end was 1M a year these coaches would still be coaching football.

My father always told me to never gamble with a man that can't spell, because you'll never get paid. So let not wager on it. Saban will remain the highest paid coach in college football and will remain the King of Alabama. Hey, you heard it here first.

Saban's not leaving alabama, he rules the south, any recruit he wants, he gets. He's built a powerhouse, why leave and restart at texas?

Texas can talk all they want. Saban signed a contract extension in March '12 that runs through 2019 and is worth roughly $45 million plus incentives. Imagine the buyout on that baby!!
