Mike Mitchell Update

Mike Mitchell received an in-home visit from the Buckeyes last night and I am hearing that went very well. Visit to OSU still needs to be set up, but now that he's out of the playoffs, looking like 12/7. Going to be a huge weekend and I still expect Mike to be a Buckeye.

This is what I read earlier today as well. This is very exciting, and I hope we get some very good news this weekend or very early next week.

Great news. If we can land Mike and Trey, the weakness in the LB recruiting this year turns into a huge strength. Hopefully we can land both of them!

Thanks, Alex. This is an encouraging report! Hopefully, both Mike and his brother will be heading to C-bus.

And if things break right on Mitchell, would it be too early (not enough data?) for us to start talking about the Herman/Meyer Texas mini-pipeline to Ohio State?

I don't follow recruiting that closely. Were Herman's TX contacts especially helpful in landing JT Barrett and, hopefully, making inroads with Mitchell?

ohio state should be recruiting mike mitchell harder than any other player, even if mitchell didn't pan out at lb for some inexplicable reason, hes 6'4" put him at DE and you have a hungry pass rusher a la nate williams?

Cosign. I just hope we can teach him not to over run plays, watching his film my first reaction is "Wow he's freaky fast!" but then several times he has to make another play on the ball to get the tackle cause he took a bad angle or flat out over ran the play, haha.

They did it with Sabino and Shazier, I have no doubt they can do it with Mitchell. I believe in Meyers last press conference he was even talking about the same issue with Sabino and how he finally got to a point mid-season where he was an excellent football player.

Expect both to be Buckeyes.

In my not-so-professional opinion, Worley is either a silent commit or needs to commit soon to guarantee a spot. If we land Mitchell, Johnson, and Bell, he could be left out. He very well may get a spot still, but if that scenario happens numbers start to get a little tight
