Here's the thing. I think if 2 out of 3 of Alabama, Oregon, and K-State go unbeaten, then Notre Dame shouldn't be in the title game. If you want to compare to 2002 OSU - I have a feeling that if there was another undefeated team along with Miami and OSU, and that team was more impressive going through their relatively equal schedule, then OSU would've been the one to get the snub. Alabama, Oregon, and K-State were all impressive yesterday. Notre Dame was not. I know OSU would get trashed for beating Pitt like Notre Dame did yesterday. So why should Notre Dame get credit? If they're an elite team and back like people want to say they are, then they shouldn't be praised like they are for that "win".
I said above that Alabama/Oregon would be your title game if they both go unbeaten...I kind of forgot about Kansas State. That would be a really difficult decision to make IMO. Is it wrong if I hope one of those 3 unbeatens lose so that the decision is easier to make?

Pitt got shafted on a some calls, particularly that P.I. BS...seems to happen against Notre Dame. But, the Pitt coaches had a major role in blowing that game too.
On that drive when Notre Dame was down 12 - 20 with just over 2 minutes left, Pitt dropped into basically a Dime/Prevent defense with a weak pass rush. It's not like it was hailmary time with 4 seconds left - there was still 2 + minutes on the clock. Notre Dame QB Golson completed a long pass inside the Pitt red zone with absolutely no pass rush or stunt to get after the QB. Terrible! I don't care how novice of a passer the other team's QB is - you have to get some kind of pass rush. Golson had about 8 full seconds - you just can't cover for that long. So stupid. I'd rather take my chance with some kind of blitz/backside pressure to, (don't have to sack him), try to hurry & pressure the QB into an errant throw.
The other HUGE mistake was in overtime when Pitt had a third down which you have to assume most teams used to center up the kicker. Unless he wanted it on the right hash - that was a bonehead move....because, as we saw, his kick was straight - but because they didn't center the ball in the middle, but instead to the right hash - his kick missed wide right of course.

I hate when people say college football is better when Notre Dame is good, or that college football NEEDS Notre Dame to be good. College Football the last 10 years or so has been more popular than ever before, and that's when Notre Dame has been mostly bad.
