I wonder if Lane Kiffin will ever get a 5-year "show cause" ban for trying (again and again) to gain unfair advantage against his opponents *on the field of play.* Probably not, huh? But failing to report free tattoos... Let's make an example out of that evil-doer!
You see, allowing players to receive free tattoos puts other programs at a potential recruiting disadvantage, making it harder for those opposing programs to win games against your program. That's unfair, and we can't have that, can we? Hence, 5-year "show cause", vacated season, bowl ban, and hefty fine.
But if you actively try to cheat the other team *during the game* *on the field of play*, no NCAA violations there! Coach on, Mr. Kiffin!
All I can say is, let's hope that Karma has a better sense of justice than the NCAA...
Tressel got the show cause penalty mainly because he tried to cover it up and then repeatedly lied to the NCAA. If they can somehow prove Kiffin was aware of the deflated balls and lied, Im sure he will get some kind of sanctions. It's not like the NCAA is afraid to punish USC...they hammered them with the previous sanctions.
