Rightfully assuming a win over TTUN and a ND loss somewhere along the lines, I will forever claim a 2012 national championship regardless of how the polls end. I can see myself in 20 years being entirely irrational and not relenting on the point while arguing with someone at a bar or game. I will be childish about it, I will have my way, and I will be that guy.

I wonder if we are still eligible for the FWAA and NFF national championship trophies, as well as some of those lesser-known organizations that name the national champion at the end of the year.
Not me, I've ripped too many Auburn fans a new one for the year their undefeated team was left out of the BCS title game. They always said USC ain't the real champ, we didn't get a shot at them. I want 12-0, and I will tease SEC fans when their team inevitably wins it this year, and say yeah but you didn't beat the undefeated Buckeyes.
It was 2003 when LSU won the BCS National Championship and USC won the AP.

@jason -- that's is not definitive at all. It would be interesting to compare 2002 and 2012 if we end up going undefeated this year. The only good team we beat tht year was Miami and there were very few convincing wins along the way. 2012 has certainly had a lot more dominating performances. Our defense was better in 02 but our offense was as boring an offense that we saw out of Tressel.

This is the worst 11-0 team (outside of a MAC school) I've ever seen. Alabama/Georgia are better.

This reminds me of Penn State fans that go on and on about all their "mythical national championships" that they, in their minds, claim as legitimate. To which I've always laughed in their face and pointed to our "real, non-imaginary national championships".
Even if we don't win the AP title, if we are undefeated and nobody else is I view it as a win for us. Also, at the very least we spark some controversy about who was really the best team this year and about how bad the bcs is.
It's not the same thing..the 2002 team played in a better big ten and EARNED the title with a win against a dynasty type team with 20 NFL players on it!
