Definitely good news. Hopefully he enjoys his visit and we can get him up here for an official one so he can sit down with the coaches in a more one on one scenario...unless this is his official (I was assuming he was just doing an unofficial visit).
I still think we have a tough time pulling him out of the South, but the fact that he is at least considering us is encouraging and we can just hope that Meyer can do his magic.
If this team is 11-0 heading into The Game this year, that weekend will be the greatest weekend in the history of Ohio State football to take a visit. That crowd is going to be insane that day. I'm seriously jealous of anyone who will be able to attend that game. I was considering it, but I don't think I'll be able to pull it off. They could end up getting quite a haul after the game this year.
Now, I appreciate the enthusiasm for this team and program at this point in time, but I think there was a particular weekend back in November of 2006 that was certainly considered a popular time to be taking a visit to Columbus as well. I understand the Urban Effect is an added dynamic for this year's version, enough so that I think the two weekends rival each other, but your statement may be just a bit hyperbolic when you think about Ohio State's history, even recently.
I think we can all agree it would be splitting hairs, to a degree. After what happened last year, I'm just glad that we can make such statements about this year's team and upcoming Game without sounding like crazed lunatics!
That game was great and I wish I would've been there, but I honestly do think this year has a potential to have an even more electric crowd simple because of everything else that is going on in and around the program. It's senior day for this awesome class that if they complete an unbeaten season will become one of the most beloved classes/teams of all time. We're coming off a terrible season. It's the default bowl game. The 2002 team is going to be honored and JT will be there. Oh yeah, it's Urban's first The GAME lol.
Like you said, splitting hairs at the end of the day, that was a pretty special day, I just think this will be one that goes into Buckeye lore just like the 1 vs 2 matchup. That year it was our ticket to the national championship, this year it'll basically be the closest thing we can have to a national championship.
I can't wait to be there for this game! I'm a little worried about Wisky next weekend, but if we are 11-0 with the list of unreal recruits coming into this game (seriously, tell me a game with more big prospects this year) it's gonna be out of hand... These seniors deserve this season, and I for one will be there going crazy for our present and our future!
After Bielema's bs last year when Dodson switched to the good guys, I have a feeling Urban has an ass whooping planned for Wisconsin. I'm extremely confident about that game.
Im going to be at The Game this year it will be my first time to a game since The Game in 2006. Having grown up going to the games I have to say one my favorite Horseshoe memories was when Troy Smith ran on the field before that Michigan Game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LqtDYL50sQ&feature=related (4:40 in)
I dont know if this years game can get bigger than that game and that moment. But if any year is going to be close it will be this year with potentially and hopefully 12-0 on the line, Urban's first Game. Either way this will be one of the biggest recruiting weekends in recent memory.
Last time I was at the game was 2006. It was the best game I have ever watched in every aspect. It would take a lot to beat that one but I think the recruiting for this years game will be impressive. It seems like every top prospect in the nation for the next 2 classes will be attending.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
Just when you think that being a Buckeye fan can't get any better, you get news like this, and it gets better! Watched his highlight reel and impressive doesn't really describe it. It's exciting that these players are looking at tOSU as the place to be. Urban, I love you man!!
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
Yes, that 2006 game was sick. And maybe had never meant more for the teams in the rivalry. But I do get BTAlbert's point - In Urban F'n Meyer's first season, possibly poised to go 12-0 which is unheard of for a team coming off a 6-7 season with an overhauled staff etc. etc....this Michigan game could be HUGE. Not to mention the recruting impact - Hoke is doing real well, so is Urban...this game really could sway some recruits.
I pray for the most electric, loudest home OSU crowd ever....
After further thought...yes, it's splitting hairs comparing this year's Game vs. 2006's Game. But holy cow they're both good ones. I practically have the 2006 game memorized I've watched it so much. But this year...oh man does Urban want to beat them. I REALLY want OSU to drop 100 on them. That's my wish, no matter how unlikely.
@Corveyer - Troy's entrance gave me chills and got everyone so amped when I was down there for the best atmosphere ive ever been to in sports was def my fav moment well that and when pittman broke free in the 2nd half good times!

beautiful info there.....
That Urban Meyer. He's so hot right now.

I'd say an undefeated OSU team ranked #1 vs an undefeated Michigan team ranked #2 was the best weekend ever, but why split hairs?!

@ unky buck - Both Hand and Boone are from Virginia not the South, I think of landing one if not both is a reality.
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!

Great to hear he's visiting. He'd be a solid addition to our Silver Bullets DL

2nd best player I ever lined up against (1st being 2013 #1 DE Jon Allen) and he is the real deal. Would love for him to be a Buckeye.
Also, Hand is from Northern Virginia, which doesn't qualify as "The South"

@Nova This man begs to differ about Northern Virginia not being in the "South"

@703 Broad Run in Ashburn.
@VASANTHANANTH Culturally, Northern Virginia is much more northern in comparison to the rest of Virginia Virginia.
