Personally I think scUM just got better offensively with Gardner at QB and Robinson at WR/RB. Gardner has only started 4 games at QB but he's already light years ahead of Robinson as a passer. More accurate, better poise in the pocket, still can beat you with his legs. Then you move Robinson to RB where he can use is best attribute, his speed. I know it's been against @Minn, and NW and Iowa at home but I came away very very impressed with Gardner at QB and I for one am a lot more nervous about seeing those two in the backfield together than anything scUM threw out previously. Agree or disagree?

Sadly, I have to agree... They've adapted their offense to where their skill players can actually do the most damage. It's obvious Denard's hurt (he couldn't even carry the ball in his right arm yesterday), and the decoy looks they showed during the Iowa game are their best chance to throw our defense off. Gardner will most likely be their QB next week and next year, but we need to force them to beat us with the pass by getting a big early lead, as well as dial the pressure way up (Wisconsin's O line held us in check a majority of yesterday, we need more disruption, LB or corner blitzes)
I haven't been THAT impressed. A lot of his highlights are him just chucking it downfield and the opposing DB's being terrible. I mean his is better than Denard passing, but he's played some pretty poor defenses.
Roundtree may be the happiest man in America with a QB who can throw the ball.
Dear Lord,
Please send Denard across the middle on a slant so I can watch him get blown up...

^^What he said for me too^^
We'll see how he does under pressure in "The Game"

With Robinson at QB I stopped fearing the pass. He's really regressed as a passer. Gardner is a far more accurate passer then Dennard is and that concerns me greatly. However, I do NOT think Gardner is more fleet of foot than Robinson is, either, so that will affect the effectiveness of Michigan's ground game.

The way I see it, with Denard in at QB they have a good running game but little passing game. With Gardner it at QB they have a decent to solid pass game but little run game with toissant out. Either way they are fairly one dimensional and even if they put Denard in at running back it doesn't have the same effect as when he is a running qb. I don't really see a scenario in which scUM scores more than 14 or 21 on us. Hopefully I'm right!
I'm not scared of Denard if he can't use his arm. He's not a good running back. He isn't trained to be a running back. He's fragile, he doesn't have the luxery of roughing the passer penalties to help coddle him, and he's not breaking any tackles.
Let's not forget that Gardner has good games against NW, Iowa, and Minnesota, some of the worst defenses in the B1G
Gardner has lookd good against bad defenses, but I refuse to believe that Michigan is somehow more dangerous without their starting QB and RB.
I actually think Rawls is more dangerous than Toussaint, but I'm in the minority. He hasn't had a great sample size outside of Bama, which is an unrealistic sampling prop.
He's not quite as quick as a guy like Burkhead, but he's a good vertical runner, and if our tacklers get lazy like we know they can be, he can break off big runs.
That said, I don't think neither Rawls nor Toussaint are really that talented, but to be sure, they'll still have some semblance of a run game.
Rawls more dangerous than Toussaint? Not a chance. Dude is slow and small.
They cannot run up the middle without Fitz and without Denard running read option. Their running game will consist entirely of sweeps and reverses. Their passing game will have trouble because they have 1 capable receiver, and I expect Roby to take him out of the game.
Thomas Rawls is a pretty powerful runner at 5'10" 220lbs, but he lacks the after burners. I would say Rawls and Fitz Toussaint are about the same caliber just with slightly different skill sets.
Although Denard's speed at RB/WR is a little concerning, I think he'll play with more hesitation after the hits start piling on. It's laughable that Hoke's decided to put in Russell Bellomy over Devin Gardner against Nebraska, when TSUN misses the B1G Championship the blame is 99.9% on Hoke. Great coaching decision.
Gardner has yet to step into a hostile environment like the shoe.. I guarantee he won't be the same QB this Saturday in a big rivalry at the rivals home turf..
They are most definitely better with Gardner at Quarterback, he is an elite athlete with a cannon and Michigan is quite dumb for ever sticking him at receiver. Actually I think he would be one of the better Quarterbacks in the country if given the chance when Hoke showed up.
i personally dont think denard can take the shots that a running back would be able to handle but that doesnt matter if he gets into space. the lbs are gonna have to take way better angles on him than they did last year. as for gardner i think he isnt a world beater but he is servicable with his legs but i like roby on man coverage with any of the excuses michigan calls wide receivers

^A thread over at Michigan's 247 forum about how both Devin Gardner and Denard Robinson are better than Braxton Miller: for anyone that needs yet another reason to get excited about next weekend's game hahah.
