Hello Buckeyes,
I am going to my first OSU game tomorrow and would like to get some advice from the experts on the logistics. I am planning to take 33 East->161 E->315 S. My idea is to exit on Lane Ave and park in West Campus.
I would like to see the Skull Session in St. John's Arena. I have read that this normally happens about 2 hrs before the game.....so about 1:30 pm tomorrow. I live on 33 W about 30 miles from OSU. I was planning to leave around noon. This being my first time i am not sure how bad the traffic would be.
Any advice / recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time!

Skull Session will actually start about 1:15. You might be pressed on time by the time you park and walk/ride the shuttle. I would leave earlier than that, maybe 11am, to make sure you have plenty of time. That would give you time to stop by the Varsity Club if you so choose.
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...
(Also, I'm not a dude)
Logistics aside, congrats on your first game!
BTW.. Don't get too caught up in the logistics of everything. The day moves pretty fast, you don't stop and look around once in awhile....you could miss it.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
You'll want to be on campus by at least 12:30pm to make sure you have time to park and walk to St Johns Arena. Congrats on going to your first game, it is quite the experience.

I preach this anytime someone asks...
If you are coming down 315S. I would avoid all gameday traffic by going past all 3 OSU exits (Ackerman, Lane, Medical Center Dr) and going to the 670E/Neil Ave. exit.
Take the Neil Ave exit and turn left (you will be on Neil Avenue)
Follow Neil past the Giant Eagle on your left. At this point you are approximately 10-15 blocks from campus (15-20 minute walk).
Parking on Neil (up to King Ave to the North) is not permit parking so you can park there for free and there are generally spots on Neil available up until gametime. If not, shoot down a side road and park there.
Head North on Neil Avenue and you will run straight into campus, and once on campus you will be 3-5 minutes from the stadium.
Might not be the best location because you will have a bit of a walk to the skull session.
However, you will avoid 30-40 minutes of parking hell pre-game, save money on parking, and also avoid most of the post game traffic as well. Scoot down Neil avenue, hop in your car heading South on Neil until Vine Ave. Turn right on Vine Ave. and you will hop on 315N on your way home.
Enjoy the game
It probably won't make that much of a difference, but it should be quicker just to take 270 from 33 over to 315. 161 is OK, but will have a lot traffic lights to deal with. I wouldn't think traffic would be a problem 270 to 315 on a weekend, even with the game (during the week it sucks though).

ManBearPig --- congrats & good luck at your first game...hope you enjoy the victory!
I'd recommend leaving your house early (I always try to get there at least 3 1/2 hours before the game) and I take Ackerman off of 315, turn right on Ackerman, then left on Kenny to get to the West Campus lots (Kenny or Carmack if you turn right on Lane). I would avoid the 670 suggestion (see 'Buckshots' re: construction).
@1STYRBUCKICLUB...a +1 sir
Just took the 670E/Neil Ave. exit home from work now and it looks like the Neil Ave. part of the exit will remain open (but you cannot continue to 670E)....
If that remains the case, a lot of folks who don't know 670 is closed will end up on Neil,...so my gameday hidden gem is probably a hidden nightmare this weekend...
CLINTONVILLE/NORTH CAMPUS PARKING IT SHOULD BE!
Hello All, Thank you very much for taking the time to give me suggestions. I took 315 S and Lane Exit. Parked in West Campus. No traffic delays :-).
Great experience that I will never forget.
Go Bucks!!!
