Donovan Munger has 11 Finalists

Article (insider) per Jared Shanker at ESPN.

"The ESPN 300 defensive tackle's coach, Jarvis Gibson, said Munger's top 11, in no order, consists of USC, Ohio State, Michigan State, Tennessee, UCLA, West Virginia, Louisville, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Georgia and Pittsburgh. The Trojans are the only team that has not offered"

Urban has more patience than I do, that's for sure, having 11 finalists at this stage in the game is a lot.  Here's to hoping he doesn't miss the bus to the school he decides he wants to go to.

Yeah seriously.  If there are eleven schools being considered then there can't really be any "finaliststs".  Outside of March Madness, most tournaments I know of don't even feature 11 teams.  Even then, they're not called finalists until you get down to the last few teams, i.e. "final four".

I guess it all depends on your definition of Finalist.  By Mr. Mungers standards any team still standing after the second round of March Madness would be considered a finalist haha.

11 "Finalists"?   Did he narrow it down at all?

If OSU wants him he comes here. Otherwise I'd bet on UCLA or Tennessee.

Sweet. OSU has a 9% chance to land him.

I know Munger is versatile and a big time prospect. Alot of our prospects left may stretch it to close to NSD.

I don't know if Munger has announced his intentions or when he plans to sign but is there a chance (staff, Triv, anyone with an opinion)...

That we fill our class and he is told thanks but no thanks?

I hav no knowledge on munger, but I think it is likely that Munger is left out. From everything I've read, there are a number of recruits ahead if him on our board.

I agree with Triv, it's highly doubtful that we'd take him given our limited schollies and considering we're very close with some recruits in positions of higher need...

^Short Munger highlight clip (the only one I managed to find on youtube). Not to compare every DL recruit to Big Hank, but does have a bit of a Jonathan Hankins frame to him (about 30lbs lighter). Is the staff recruiting him as a DT or as an OT? His highlight film was filled with him pancaking people as an OT haha.

Donovan has narrowed it down to North America.

Seriously, though, I know the wording may change from school to school, but I'm wondering if all of these offers are, as we say, "committable"? You would just have to assume that most of these schools are tight on space, too (Georgia has 27 kids right now, ferchristsakes) and may not have Donovan in their "must have" group. Call me a cynic, but I'm seeing L'ville, Michigan State, or Pitt.

If I had to guess I'd say he ends up at MSU. If he were to come here, his position would most likely depend on the decisions of Dawson and Johnson. If we land one or both, there is potential for him to play on the DL. If we land neither, it greatly increases how hard we recruit Munger IMO and he ends up playing guard here.

Triv, you beat me to it. He'll be a buckeye if OSU decides they're going to give him the opportunity. Otherwise,, it's MSU. I think with Price, Bosa, and Hill all technically playing DT, Munger is being recruited by us specifically for OG only.
