That will be tough with Wisconsin who is always tough to run on and UM who he could but the way I think that one goes, Hyde and Brax could be not playing by the 4th quarter after they go up 50-3.
I hope he does! Not only would he be UfM's second 1000 yd rusher ever, it would mean he had huge games against Wisky and M*******.
Do I think he will? It's a tough call, but if the offense keeps going the way it has been, yes. Also, unless the passing game takes off early in those games, we'll be getting a healthy does of the running plays. I don't think Urban will worry about trying to develop the passing game like he did against Illinois against those two teams. This would lead to more opportunities for Hyde to reach the 1000 yd mark.

I gotta say no. Wisconsin's D isn't what it once was, but UM's run D is also quite good this year, due to a breakout front 4. Not to say we won't beat them with a combined rushing attack, but Hyde won't be able to just run everyone over.
Maybe the question that would be better to ask then is "Does Urban actively try to get Hyde to 1000 yards?" I agree with you that the foot will be on the gas. Hard. The only game this year that was close to letting up is probably Illinois. Does anyone remember if he had put the back-ups in by choice during any other game besides that one?

I think El Guapo gets his 1000. He's at 737 now. All he has to do is average 132 ypg to break that. He should have a big chunk of yards against Wisconsin, then you have a big Rivalry game. I think Urban leaves the starters in for the entire scUM game with the exception of letting a few senior back ups get some snaps.
I think he comes up about 60 or 70 yards short. Would I be surprised if he gets there? Absolutely not. But, I think Braxs' carries will hover around 20 for both games and that will make it tougher for El Guapo.
I think he may come up a bit short unless he gets about 5 of Braxton's carries each game and does well with the extra load. Either way, like many others have said, even if TSUN is down quite a bit, Urbs will simply punish them because of who it is.
Wisconsin and Michigan are actually OK at stopping the run this season. I see two more games similar to the Penn State game where El Guapo makes some big time runs, gets some touchdowns but doesn't actually get a gigantic amount of yardage. Don't see him averaging 130+ in both games.
I would love to see it, but I don't think it will happen. It's to bad he missed playing time early in the year. I would hope that if he's close Urban let's him go for it.

I think he will get it. I like the way this O is playing now.... I think Hyde will get 120 against Wisky, and 160 against the school up north. There will be nothing left on the field that day with a dominating performance against the maize and blue that would make Woody proud!

I unfortunately will have to say no.

@ Squirrel
Hypothetically, if we are up 3-4 TDs on UM and Hyde is 40 yards short of 1000 in the third quarter, does Urban pull him or try to get him to 1000?

@ ALHAN: No way Urban takes his foot off the gas against UM in your scenario, whether Hyde is at 1000 or not. No mercy.

No, I think he ends up just over 900. Let's say 917 yds

...and Michigan still sucks.

I want him to, but I see it in the 875-950 range.
