I mean, with Rutgers and Maryland now essentially slutting themselves out to the B1G, in order to satisfy our (and NYC/DC's) college football related-voyeuristic fetishes. I found myself actually rooting for a Rutgers team that has never won the Big East since its inception. To me, it feels as if this is something akin to your Mother catching you under the covers, flash-light in hand, with the annual College Co-Ed edition of Playboy. This game left me needing/wanting more yet embarassed that I was even watching it. Now that it is over I have about the same feelings of Rutgers as I had before they joined the conference..Rutgers? Really?
Anyone else feeling just a little 'Dirty' that they actually rooted for the future Big Ten(14)?
I don't feel that dirty. I know the Big East has been down for a few past years but Rutgers has been decent. They're a school with tradition which is a good thing.
Their record of 9-3 is better than 9 teams in the B1G this year. Not saying they would have had the same record or better in the B1G but take their record the past decade compared to almost half the schools in the B1G as well and it's equal if not better.
I'm okay with Rutgers ..... Maryland ..... ehhhhh. I know most people don't like the additions but in order to stay relevant we have to expand. Hopefully the next additions are top level teams.

'There can only be one!'
Back in college (I'm not going to tell you what years that was), my housemates and I watched that movie everytime we got drunk. It reached the point where we could recite all the lines of the movie, starting from any point, at the drop of a hat.
Seriously.
I watched that game for a little bit. All I could think was "OSU would kill both of these teams" Neither one was as strong as Wisconsin or even TSUN for that matter. The Louisville QB is good but I'm seeming to think a healthy John Simon would have made his life a living hell for four quarters. Thats just me.
Welcome to the B1G Rutgers. The conference may be down but you're still toast.

i think you mean fleshlight in hand
I see what you did there. ;)

Despite a UofL loss possibly meaning 2 things, a) Quick would be less likely to go to UofL and b) Rutgers being a future B1G member, I was rooting for UofL. They really deserved to win the BE (well share) and I think a healthy Bridgewater can do some damage in a BCS game. Gotta remember, they are a young team (5 seniors, 10 freshmen starting) like OSU is. Keep an eye out for the next couple of years. It wouldn't be so far fetched for OSU to meet them in the playoff in 2 years. A senior Bridgewater and 2 more years of Strong's recruiting could take the ACC.
Plus between having to watch UofL or Rutgers in a BCS game, I would prefer UofL. At least they can be somewhat exciting. Rutgers is boring to watch.
I did watch a little of the game, and I couldn't help but wonder how big their O Lines were and how much our lines would own them. Still, being in the B1G will certainly help their recruiting pitch in the future, so it's possible they'll be working with a slightly higher level of talent in the future.
I watched and was glad to see the stadium full and rocking. I was thinking about what it will be like when a BIG team plays there. The Empire State Building was lit up with red lights just like they did for the RU-UL game in '06 when Judge Ito kicked the winning FG.
Ray Rice had a monster game in that one, too.

Yes he did and continues to do so with the Ravens
I was watching basketball with Kentucky getting beat by Notre Dame and Marquette getting drilled by Florida.
I felt undefeated.

In a somewhat disengenious attempt to keep it as clean as possible my reply shall be :
Because Playboy is obviously only read for the articles..LOL

its tricky but first you have to be really good at using your toes. Then you have to have excellent eyesight, which contradicts the task at hand? (pinky at left lip edge)
All I kept thinking was, I want whatever the necessary outcome is in this game that will most likely result in a ripple effect causing Charlie Strong to leave Louisville and we get James Quick. i.e. my only interest in Louisville at this point is Charlie Strong leaving.
Stadium was rocking it was nice to see a good fan base
Kyle Flood, the head coach of Rutgers, is a good defensive coach...but as far as situational playcalling & overall offensive gameplanning - he is TERRIBLE
I watched Saints Falcons and feel just as bad. Sad to see the age beginning to catch up with Brees.
Really don't know why people think adding Rutgers is such a bad idea. Anyone who's been paying attention the past couple years would surely attest that Rutgers has been one of, if not THE, best teams in the Big East for football
I think that shows the lack of respect for the Big East. Moreso, I think it shows that people were lulled into thinking (after Nebraska) that any expansion would involve a power that is easy to get excited about. I think best case Rutgers works out to be a respectable addition, but it is NOT exciting to anyone across the league other than the accountants.

I liked Rutgers unis. The football product fell apart if the early lead, but I'm ok with that too.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I caught the replay at 4am and I was rooting for Rutgers. I think they're going to be a great addition to the B1G. Quality school and with the influx of greenbacks heading their way, I think their athletics will come up a notch or two.
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
This was a very clever and well written post. FWIW, I felt just like the OP.
And again, FWIW, congrats to the Buckeyes on an undefeated season. I wish we could have spoiled it for you. Having not spoiled it, all that is left is unabashed respect for the work that went into your 12-0 record.
