This awessssssssssssssssssssssommmmmmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeee. Vonn Bell is my favorite player in this class. I hope bama dosen't some how steal him. I hate saban he so smug.
Could we land a perfect recruiting armageddon where Bell comes to us because of this, Tennessee takes Strong which sends Quick our way, and then we steal Dawson and/or Conley from scUM?
@JRICH: That would be so great. We land Bell and Quick in one swoop.
I think Strong to UT would probably be bad for our chances with Bell.
Strong is going to Arkansas.

Am I the only person thinking this could hurt our chances at Bell if they go out and get a bigger name/better coach that resonates with recruits more than Dooley? If they hire some bum, sure I'll be excited but it'd almost be better if they just kept losing but didn't drop Dooley...then Bell's decision would be if he wants to go to a program on the up and up or stick with mediocrity at Tennessee. If they bring in someone that generates a lot of buzz and excitement around the program that could be bad for our chances. I think Bell, being a Tennessee fan is looking for any reasons he can find to commit to them but so far they've only given him reasons to commit elsewhere.
Maybe not, Bolt. He already has SOME relationship with one of the best coaches out there - UFM. It's all conjecture by everyone, including me, but I feel good about this. No matter who they bring in, UFM is still poised to be undefeated, and slated to be conference favorites and contenders for the NC next year. UT....not so much. They're still temporarily unstable no matter who comes in.
It will probably come down to a) who they bring in and b) how strong his ties are to Tenn, as you allude to. But let's hope he's all Buckeye!!
Vonn Bell would definitely be a great pickup if this is true. Hope it doesn't affect the Chris Worley recruitment, but I trust in Urban. An hour from now, we'll know if the press conference goes off. We have stability and are on a roll... If we hammer (and by hammer, I mean make Brady Hoke cry over his plate of ribs and bratwurst every night for a month) Meatchicken, the recruits might be even better than we expect.
Remember Bell is very high on OSU. He took a visit in the spring then came back and camped at OSU in the summer. Remember he didn't have to camp with us because he already had an offer and we were the only school he camped at over the summer. He has a great relationship with Urban and thinks very highly of him. I have a good feeling about him
@Bolt: That was my initial thought as well, BUT, I'd agree with AVAIL in the sense that I think the relationships recruits build with coaches has a big part in it (i.e. it's often a big part of why recruits go to certain universities and everyone's like "huh? what could he possible see in that school?"). So if Dooley's gone (including the member of his staff who spent the most time recruiting Bell), that would probably be a bigger impact even than a big name coach coming in. In my opinion anyway.
