So it's years away, but I want to hit the first Ohio State game at Maryland's Byrd stadium with the maximum number of Buckeyes possible. I want some tailgating buddies to meet up with, watch the victory, and get loud to introduce Maryland to Buckeye football.
Who is in?

i will be there with a sign that i will hold up whenever the Silver Bullets defense is in action, and it will say, "you've been crab-caked, welcome to Buckeye Country"
I'm going to be in the area this weekend for the holiday. Can anyone tell me about Union Jacks in Bethesda? Good scene? I've been to Rhino Bar in Georgetown years ago and it was pretty good/crowded so I'd imagine it will be solid for the M*ch*g*n game but my girlfriend wants to try union jacks because Bethesda is closer to where we'll be staying. I'm just trying to avoid a dead scene for The Game. I need as much rowdiness as possible. Any info?
I graduated from Maryland and would love too....but I had to leave the state for the god awful politics and people! Don't miss that traffic at all
@salberico
Never been there, sorry. My experience in Dc over the last twenty years suggests you're gonna run into a bunch of DC area Buckeyes at almost any bar on game day. It's pretty rare for me not to meet Buckeye fans at any sports related bar, even for bad games. Union Jacks is supposed to be the official alumni MD bar, so it's probably a good bet. Sorry I haven't been so I can't tell you for sure.
Union Jacks is a better bar on any given night....but not better to watch the OSU game. Alot of Michigan fans will be there also. Rhino bar will be just OSU fans
I'll attempt to come back from Ohio State and go to College Park. With any luck, should be the same year I plan on traveling to Blacksburg for the VT game.

I'll be at every single OSU game at Maryland as long as I live in the area, which will probably be the next thirty years, so yeah let's do tailgating.
@ Salberico: Don't go to Rhino Bar unless you're under 23. Union Jack's is OK, but it's mostly attended by families. Unfortunately -- and maybe because there are three 'official' bars in the area -- there's no good official OSU alumni bar in DC. Just about any bar will have a good general crowd. If you're staying in Northern Virginia, the Crystal City Sports Bar has a great setup and I've had a good time there on many occasions. In the District, it's more hit-or-miss. I'm mostly familiar with Capitol Hill bars, can't really recommend many elsewhere (though Buffalo Billiards in Dupont Circle is a UM bar). Sorry that I'm not really giving anywhere a thumbs up -- just have had a less-than-optimal time going to any of the 'official' bars.
Taquitos.
Also, it's 'Chevy Chase Field at Byrd Stadium' lolololol

I'll be moving to the DC suburbs in summer '13. I am for sure with you. That is one of the upsides to this whole conference realignment deal.
For NoVA, Mister Days in Clarendon is pretty decent for OSU watch parties.
@Salberico-Rhino is usually a big college bar with a Georgetown U. student and others crowd on weekend nights. It shouldn't be too bad for the game, since it is at noon. Penn State uses it as an alumni bar also, but their game starts at 3:30. Georgetown is pretty neat, with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, and cool very old beautiful and incredibly expensive homes, and very walkable. That evening though, it will probably be full of Northern Virginia 20 year old college students back for Thanksgiving break using their older siblings' IDs.
FYI, the VA gamewatch location, Mr. Days, is in the Clarendon section of Arlington- Clarendon/Ballston areas of Arlington are yopro (us baby boomers knew them as yuppies back in the day) central with lots of bars and restaurants in a fairly concentrated area right on the metro.
Southbymidwest has the Rhino/GTown/M Street scene down pretty good, but there's a caveat: it's walkable, but not metro-accessible -- unless you're up for walking a mile. Granted, a mile walk isn't a big deal, but Georgetown is on a bit of an island w/r/t Metro.
Mr Days may be decent, I've never been. We've gone to Clarendon before to the old spot at Ri Ra, and the crowd there was the most tolerable of OSU fan watches that I've been to. Sorry for not including that earlier, I'd kind of forgotten.
Taquitos.
I'll be there. My wife went to MD and we may get season tickets. Never would have considered that before.
Funny how we live in MD and have season tickets to the SHOE BABY!
I will be there. Hopefully we get UMD at home in 2014 and on the road in 2015. OSU already has a game in Baltimore vs. Navy in 2014 and we can get two years in a row of Buckeye tailgating in the Old Line state.

Heck I will gladly drive from pittsburgh to join... or wherever I am at when I start school again
Ooh, might get to see OSU play 4 times in 2014-at Navy, if at Maryland, if at Rutgers, and the VT-OSU game at Columbus (hubby is a VT grad, but I hope we squish them-heh, nice wifey I am). Yay!
And yeah, Denny is right, you can walk around Georgetwon easily, BUT you can't get there via Metro unless you want to take a cab over the bridge to Roslyn. And good luck finding a cab.
I will be driving down from NYC. First beer is on me!
