Not sure if you guys have seen yet, but Braxton is in the Heisman commerical ESPiN had on today with a few other candidates. Do you think that means he will be getting the invite? Is it a sign?

Ballots don't have to be turned in till next Monday by voters, so I just think it means he's a possibility, but it doesn't mean he's getting an invite.
Idk about anyone else but I'm not impressed with the heisman candidates this year. It would be a joke if Braxton didn't get invited because he is clearly one of the best 5 players in the country. I still don't know how Manziel is the front runner with 2 losses under his belt 1 of which he threw 3 INTs in the game.
I get what you're saying, but Baylor had 3 losses last year and RGIII still won it.
Yes, but RGIII was consistently putting up rediculous numbers all year and when the big games came around, he played even better. Manziel hasn't really shined in big games before Alabama came along. I get what you're saying, I just don't think they are similar situations.

I was mainly just pointing out the losses.
He'll be going but won't win....Johnny Football will win it. I'm not a big fan of a RS Freshman winning it...but oh well. That win vs Bama and his 4600 total yards will certainly win it. Can't say I would blame them for voting for him. Looks like Brax360 has his work cut out for him next year. Better shoot for 5000 total yards to win the Heisman next year considering how shitty the B1G is....or at least was this year.

Don't forget about Collin Klein just yet. Lost an ugly one to Baylor, but he didn't have a terrible game individually.

As I'd love to agree with you TOTS...that loss to Baylor is what did it. Not to mention the Wide World of Ignorant sports announcers (besides Chris Spielman and Joey Galloway) are all on Johnny's nuts...it's a done deal (ESPN loves the SEC, bottom line). I would vote for Optimus but I don't vote for the Heisman. The ones who are will be voting for Manziel...it's just facts at this point.

Oh I know The Mothership is all over Johnny, but I'd like to point out that Sagarin's computer rankings have Baylor at #23. I believe his rankings also consider the Big 12 a tougher conference than the almighty SEC.
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt12.htm
Sagarin's rankings also have OSU at #14, so he can take his formula and go to hell...then go back to the drawing board. GMAFB.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I'm definitely not an expert on his ratings, but I believe they rely heavily/ almost exclusively on strength of schedule. I think we can all agree the B1G was pretty pathetic this year. Our out of conference schedule wasn't much better. As I mentioned earlier, his ratings indicate the Big 12 is the toughest conference in college football. The B1G is fourth. According to the rankings, Baylor had the 7th strongest schedule while OSU had the 51st strongest. I realize that as your name suggests you're biased towards OSU, but I don't think his rankings are worthless or invalid just because they don't favor our team or the demonstrated weakness of our opponents.
While I am admittedly biased towards OSU, I am generally pretty rational about the CFB landscape. And while I'm on board with the argument that our strength of schedule this year was weak, and therefore our ranking should reflect that, #14 is pushing it. There is a 4 loss team ahead of us! And a 3 loss team, for that matter. SOS weighting shouldn't be that dramatic.

You're right, and it's technically not as dramatic when the BCS rankings are involved. The Elo_Chess number is the one that goes into the BCS ranking. In that one, OSU is #10 and Baylor is #31.
Wow honestly this just sold me on Klein. Very very interesting stats. Wonder what Braxtons are in that formula.
I've been saying Klein since week three...but those whores at ESPIN are going to keep trying to campaign for Johnny. I hate to say it but they'll probably win that campaign unfortunately.

IMO its completely up for grabs. Braxton is the dark horse.
Te'o gets the vote because his team is going to the NC and is also undefeated not to mention his stats aren't too shabby (unless compared to Shazier). Klein gets the vote for being the best QB talent going into the draft. Manziel for knocking off Bama (subpar games when it mattered with the exception of one.) Lee's out, USC dropped the ball one too many times this year.
Leaves Braxton (on an undefeated team which should have been rebuilding) who put the team on his back (minus 5 minutes during the Purdue game) and carried and did what it takes... Of course my opinion might be a little biased.
Reminds me of the high school homecoming king/ queen vote. All the "cool" kids split the vote and those nominated by the band and english club won.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
Agreed^^^^ The cool kids that haven't been to the principals office lately;-)
