Big10- not enough teams to fill bowl spots

tie ins are:

Jan 1:

Rose Bowl- BCS tie to Big 10 Champ

Capital One- vs SEC

Outback- vs SEC

Ticket City- vs Conference USA

Gator- vs SEC

Dec 29:

Buffalo Wild Wings- vs Big 12

Dec 28:

Meineke Car Care- vs Big 12

Dec 26:

Little Ceaesar's Pizza- vs MAC

8 Bowl tie ins.....Nebraska, Michigan, Northwestern, Minnesota, Wisconsin are eligible now

so what other 3 teams make it???

Michigan State(5-5)- must win one of their final 2---- Northwestern or @ Minnesota.........I say they are in

Iowa(4-6) must win final 2------- @ Michigan, Nebraska........................ no way they make it

Illinois (2-8), Penn State and Ohio State...................... eliminated

that leaves 2 teams.. Indiana and Purdue-----both are 4-6--- both need to win their final 2, but they play each other in the final game, so only one can be bowl eligible

Indiana also plays @ Penn State

Purdue also plays @ Illinois..............................they safe bet has Purdue making it

What a clusterfuck of a conference.

The conference sucks... Pretty simple.

Oh does the B1G blow right now. We are so gonna get rocked in bowls.

I'm happy Urban is a year ahead of schedule in turning things around. It is obvious we are going to have be the pride of the B1G for the foreseeable future.

Matchups will be very unbalanced also with Ohio State staying home since OSU should be playing in the Big Ten's biggest bowl game and the rest of the teams slide down from there into more favorable matchups.

This could be a down fall for OSU if the conference stays this way until 2014.  I realize it's early, but if the "panel" of people look at strength of schedule as well as conference...OSU's screwed if the B1G stays this way.

25 in a row at the end of next year makes a pretty compelling case to get into the NC regardless what the rest of the conf does.

Isn't there anything the BIG can do to push these other schools to invest in their football programs?  I realize that for most of my lifetime it has been OSU, Tsun and then the rest of the teams, but we really need some better competition.  Otherwise we are going to have to try and raid another conference for some good teams.

Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!

Give some more bowl games to MAC teams instead, they deserve.  Between Ohio U, Kent State, Toledo, BGSU, and Northern Illinois, I would like to see me some extra MACtion in the bowl season.

^^^^ except what would be considered our lowest prestige Bowl pit's us against the MAC.  I doubt The Little Caesar's Bowl is going to go MAC on MAC.

MAC on MAC is just whack.

I do agaree with you though, I would love to see the MAC have more teams playing Bowl games this year, than their token 2, they are tied into.

Its only because of two ineligable teams. If there were no bowl bans there would 8 teams. Also MSU is a decent team. They lost some close ones. I expect them to beat whoever they play in a bowl this year.
