I was curious of everyones opinion on this announcing combo. I tried to give them another chance this week after they did Purdue game, but I haven't really been a big fan of both of them, especially Beth. I feel she talks way too much and makes a lot of stupid comments throughout the game. I remember her making a comment that Kawann Shorts "might get drafted" during the purdue game (He's a projected 1st round pick). I was just curious if it was just me that feels this way

That was the progression yesterday, and the Purdue game. Thats my opinion of them haha
I dont always root for college athletics, but when i do (which is most of the time) I choose THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
80% of the broadcast was Beth saying that Braxton was a Heisman candidate, or that Joey Galloway used to play football. Just painful
It's painful listening to Mowins.
I deal with it knowing full well ESPN must not know better or something because it is inexcusable that they really believe Mays and Holtz and they blowhard with them actually is a good group. They have gotten even more annoying as the years have gone by and I really hope they get replaced after this year. Mays actually used the argument that Braxton shouldn't be a Heisman candidate because OSU is on probation. The guy is such a total douchebag that he actually takes away from the work of a great kid because of something that had nothing to do with him. Say what you want about them not being eligible and ranking and all of that. I can deal with that. But don't say Braxton doesn't belong in the Heisman talk because of OSU's probation. He didn't say it as if Braxton won't have the opportunity to show more on his resume. He said it as if its Braxton's fault that OSU is on probation. I really really hate him and hope he gets some desease that rots off his genitals! \
so because of that, I am fine with Joey and Beth. Some excutive in charge of college programming really needs to get fired!
one of my least favorite color comentary combos by far
Mowins' voice is very annoying and she is prone to making pretty stupid factual mistakes. People who do this for a living should know that Ohio Stadium is "The Horseshoe"; that Ohio State colors are SCARLET and Gray/grey; not "red"; and that Braxton Milller is not the first Ohio State PLAYER to rush for over 1,000 yards. I think it's ESPN's way of punishing us. Facebook was blowin' up with negative comments about her yesterday.
I don't mind women commentators...I think 11W's Sarah would rock at it.
Beth is most annoying when she repeats something over and over on the broadcast. How many times did we hear Miller is a Heisman candidate yesterday? Purdue game was the worst - kept repeating how many years it has been since Purdue had won in Columbus. We end up turning down the volume and just enjoying the game. Galloway is in an awkward position - as a newbie he bites his tongue and does not correct her - but you could tell he was doing his best to change the subject when ever she became fixated on a fact or misstated something that is common knowledge (i.e. red instead of scarlet).
And, I agree that Sarah would be awesome in the booth - maybe Elika has a good shot at that as well. At least they would get team trivia correct - and not just for OSU. Both of them are a credit to OSU fans Let's start a campaign!

Mute the TV and turn up the radio to listen to Paul Keels and Jim Lechay (sp)
^^^ I turned my TV to mute and turned on the radio, unfortunately the radio is a few seconds ahead of the HDTV. I don't mind Joey, it's either a female voice doing football or her voice ?!?!?

im upvoting all of nw buckeyes comments for obv reasons lol... as far as the mowins galloway combo.. galloway can pretty much get away with anything for me bcuz well he was incredible on the field... there is absolutely no way in hell mowins should have a job though and im convinced the only reason she does is bcuz she is a woman. others have mentioned elika and sarah id be ok with that im not against woman announcers. in fact for all the flack andrews gets i actually think she does a pretty good job on the fox show

Glad someone brought this up... I spent 20 minutes yesterday trying to watch the game with an Internet radio broadcast that was a whole play ahead (I couldn't)...
I can't stand this team, Beth is awful... And as much as I want to like Joey for obvious reasons he isn't very good either, and he kind of comes across as an arrogant nerd... I feel like the main point of the analyst role is to bring attention to aspects of the game people may overlook, and educate us on inside factors from a players perspective which, IMO, he does not do...
Galloway got fined for pro-Ohio state comments, so he's probably trying to be as cautious as possible.

bad part about muting TV and listening to radio, is that, in my case (Direct TV with most games watched in HD) there is a 4 -6 second delay between the radio call and the TV picture. So you already know what is going to happen, before you see it.
