Girlfriend surprised me with tickets to the Illinois game this saturday for my birthday. I haven't been to a game in 6 or 7 years. Wanted to ask you guys what your thoughts were on the best places to park currently are. The last time I went we parked in the west campus lot and took the shuttle over. Is this still the best option for avoiding traffic after the game? We are coming from Dayton. Go Bucks!

I always park at the Student Union on High because it's not that far from the stadium and close to alot of the eateries.
Now, as for the parking spaces, wow! I think the inventor of the Smart Car may have had something to do with the size of the spaces. I usually have my passenger jump out and then I park. The cost is $15, it's worth it!
Ackerman Rd is not bad. A bit of a walk, but you will be close to 315.
Now that the Quarter Horse show is over with, IMO the best place to park is the Fairgrounds. Avoid a lot of traffic that way. Their shuttle drops you off (and picks you up afterwards) extremely close to the Stadium (on Neal in front of the Power Plant).
If you're coming early to tailgate, and staying to eat around campus, the best place is the Student services parking garage. They only want $8 for the whole day (till 3 AM Sunday), and it's close to everything.
I always pay $15 and park either in the Ag Admin lot (corner of Fyffe and Woody Hayes) or across the street at the Vet Hospital.
It's a great place to tailgate and it's not a very far walk to Lane Ave and the Stadium.
We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...
(Also, I'm not a dude)
If you can get into Neil Ave Garage it's a very short walk to the Shoe.
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
EDIT 2x: realized you are coming from Dayton. Head 70E to 670E and get off at Neil Ave. exit
Get off on Neil Avenue and turn left (you are on Neil avenue).
Pass the Giant Eagle on your right and you are approximately 10 blocks from campus and 15 blocks from the stadium (15-20 minute walk).
it is NOT permit parking, it is usually pretty empty to the point that you can park right on Neil, and it is FREE.
Don't park north of King Ave. or you will get towed (if you even could find a spot).
Also, you will avoid almost all of (if not it all) game day traffic that clogs up Ackerman, Lane, and Medical Center exits. It is a quick exit after the game and requires no shuttles what so ever.
Personally I prefer parking at the Med Center lot South of Lincoln Tower. Never have to worry about there being enough spaces.
I always park at CAS - corner of Olentangy River Rd. and Ackerman/Dodridge (depending on what side of Olentangy you're on). They usually have plenty of parking in their normal spots, but actually were parking people in the large field in front of the building for the Nebraska game. Not a bad walk at all, and usually an easy exit.
Class of 2010.
I'm amazed at how many of you want to sit in traffic and pay to do it!
I suppose the 3:30 start time makes it a bit easier, but if it was a noon game, i'd rather spend those precious hours before the game drinking
haha a downvote for being dedicated to drinking? wow..
I park about a mile north of campus in the Clintonville area off High St. We usually find plenty of spots near Giant Eagle or near Graffiti Burger. We then either walk or jump on the bus ($1.50 a person) and it will take you to Lane and High. Has always worked but I'd make sure you park near the bus stop if you are gonna jump on a bus.
Thanks for all the tips everybody! Not sure where we are going to try yet but it seems like we can do alot better than the west campus lot.
Our honor defend we will fight to the end for Ohio..
You can park on Patterson or Maynard between Neil and High if you arrive sufficiently early. I went to Ohio State for my Master's and parked on those streets everyday for 2 years.
also the last time I was in Columbus ackerman was closed east of olentangy for construction, but maybe its ok now
We were there for Purdue - I liked the WOSU/Longaberger lot. Moderate walk, simple in & out, and you can stop by the Alumni center on your way toward the stadium and get a crazy good breakfast for $5.
As others stated Ive always parked somewhere near Ackerman and 315 pricing isnt bad and its always a nice walk when going through all our fellow Bucknutters over by the Schott and Jesse Owens stadium
