Being one of only two undefeated teams remaining, would the BCS polls be able to keep an undefeated, bowl eligible Ohio State out of the top two in the BCS? I have long thought all year that if there were three undefeated at the end of the season and ND was one, their brand alone would be enough to push them into the title game. Obviously this is no longer the case, and ND controls their fate now. Ohio State has a similar brand and following, and I wonder if in a world of no bowl ban, this team would be in a position to play for it all this year...

Yes,,,, Why not? 11-0 isn't an easy road reguardless of what BCS cof. your from

I think we're #2 despite the weak schedule. The AP later today will tell what voters think, because I honestly think Alabama is a better team than we are, but it's hard to deny an undefeated team in an AQ conference.
Yes, OSU would be in the NC Game if we remain undefeated. No doubt in my mind.
If Notre Dame loses on Saturday and we win, I say we declare ourselves national champions regardless of what the rest of the country says. I say we hang "2012" up in the stadium along with all the other championship years. Screw the NCAA. They can keep us out of a bowl game, but they can't keep us from celebrating our team's excellence.

100% in the top 2
There would be loud outrcy from those at ESPiN to get a one-loss SEC team in over (especially OSU) either ND or OSU.
My guess is the line would be "but look how weak the B1G is... and look who Alabama had to play this year?" However, ultimately, two undefeated teams (and those teams being the likes of Ohio State and Notre Dame) would play for the title.
There would be a lot of chatter/complaints/gnashing of teeth, though.
I don't think we are ready for Alabama just yet after watching basically a 1 dimensional Wisconsin team run the ball down our throats. Alabama has more outside firepower at the WR position. I think they would beat us pretty good.
we would be in it for sure 100%. running the table with inly 1 other undefeated would be nd vs tosu nc. what a mtach up that buckey nation would be salivating over. rece davis pretty much said as much(that we would be number2 and looking at bcs title game) on college football final and of course mark may just smirked at my pain

To think what could've been... But can't so I'm not gonna dwell on it...much
We'd have to be. Especially after beating TSUN, who could very well be the best 3 loss team in America right now. Only twice has an undefeated AQ team been left out of the title game, and both times it was because there were two other undefeated AQ teams. It's all a moot point now, but I'd say 95% we'd be in with ND undefeated, and 100% if ND lost to USC next week.
Class of 2010.
I would hope that we wouldn't go to the NT just to get manhandled. I'd rather be able to whine about not going then go and lose.
What's being forgotten here is that OSU would not only be 12-0....but 13-0 with the B1G championship game. I think this would be the kicker. If it were the old days with no title game, id still say yes, but not as decisively.
either way....BEAT SCum.
"Have you earned your buckeye today?"
We'd be 3rd or 4th behind ND, Bama, and perhaps Georgia. Heck, even Oregon might be ahead of us.
Absolutely. Undefeated would be in top 2.
I'm not saying where we should be or anything but wouldn't we still be ranked behind Alabama and Georgia? We are in the AP poll and are killed by some of the computer polls that go into the rankings as well. It doesn't appear to me that we would be in the top 2.
I think we would have to, assuming no probation I don't know how they could keep an undefeated OSU out of the title game when there are only 2 undefeated teams. I think that we are rated lower because the voters are more concerned about voting for the national championship matchup then actually ranking the best teams. If we were eligible we would absolutely be no worse than 2.
@RedStorm45 Without probation the Buckeyes could be in the top 2 just like bama was #! and not being the best team & without the best schedule.

Even if we weren't #1/#2 this week, there's no question we would be after a win against Michigan next week and/or a win in the B1G championship game.
I'll admit, we have had a weak schedule and some ugly wins. But regardless, we are unbeaten still. And I would have to think unbeaten should look better than this:
Georgia's 'body of work'
Beat Tenn (0-7 in SEC) by 7
Rolled by S.Car
Beat KY (0-7 in SEC) by 5
Beat FLA by 8......who is suspect
YES !!!!
It's be discussed that OSU would now be #2 if they didn't have the bowl ban. Can anyone now see that not sitting out last year was a stupid decision.

The NCAA is too unpredictable, sitting out on last season's bowl in no way guarantees they still wouldn't have banned us this season as well. I'm not sure why a lot of people automatically assume sitting out last year would have made the NCAA ease up a little bit.
^I tend to agree with you BuckInBama. I've always felt the NCAA was looking to make a statement w/OSU, so my feeling is they likely would have banned us this year anyway. I don't feel self-imposed sanctions we made (or those we could have made) really affected their decision at all--they wanted everyone to see that OSU was being punished, and banning ourselves from a low-level Gator Bowl likely wouldn't have done much.
But I suppose it's anyone's guess.
We're still clearly behind Bama and Georgia in the AP poll. We've got bad rankings in some of the computer rankings that we're eligible to be ranked in. That puts us at 4th at best. Even if we beat ttun next weekend Alabama can say they've massacred ttun as well. I still think they'd put Alabama ahead of us if they win out as well.
