Ok so we need to beat Michigan, Notre Dame to lose to USC, Georgia to beat Bama in the SEC championship, Georgia to lose in the national championship an maybe Oregon lose 1 more time.
Buckupnorth, I think you'd still need Florida to lose to Florida State, and for UCLA to beat Stanford this Saturday and then lose to Oregon next week, provided Oregon beats Oregon State ON TOP of the things you listed. There are a few ways for the teams behind us to jump us before the bowls begin.
Anyone else woundering how Georgia seperated themselves from us by more points after we beat Wisconsin and they beat Georgia Southern. The difference was 11 and now 24 and with Bama was 47 and now 107 and they beat Western Carolina. It's not fair!
I think one of the most important parts to us winning the AP title would be for the B1G as a whole to do well in the bowl games. Public opinion of the conference is why we're getting hosed in the rankings.
It's guys like this that make me doubtful that we have a realistic chance. There's just too much anti-Buckeye sentiment in the national media, IMO for us to really have a chance. Would love to see it happen, but I'm just doubtful. :(
If we win out and everyone else has at least one loss (not exactly a stretch), we'll have that. That's all we can have for this year and I would be extremely happy. The "national championship" scenario is a mirage and one we'd be better off to not even worry about.
ND, Bama, UGA, OSU, Oregon

Path to AP Title:
Path 1:
1. USC beats Notre Dame
2a. Auburn beats Alabama (Not happening)
2b. Georgia Tech beats Georgia (Not Happening)
2c. Whichever of those 2 teams loses rivalry game wins SEC Championship
Path 2:
1. USC beats Notre Dame
2. SEC Champ loses MNC
(In both scenarios losses by Oregon and Florida are also probably important)
Would really help if Nebraska beat Oregon or Stanford in the Rose Bowl
we need the computer rating to drop for the SEC and it can happen if:
Florida lose to Florida State
South Carolina lose to Clemson
Second:
Georgia to beat Bama in the SEC champion
Third:
ND lose at USC

Another dream? or do the stars align just right to make the Buckeyes the big dipper of college football for 2012.
O H I O is the Buckeye State

Two words: Josh Kendall. That is all.

Hammering scUM 100-3 would also help.

Pete DiPrimio (Fort Wayne News-Sentinel) provides this justification for putting tOSU at 11 in his poll.
