A guy at our church has a cousin (#48) who plays for Wisky. He went to the game Saturday as a guest of his cousin, and sat in the Wisky student section. Quick bits of what he told me:
- According to his cousin, Ball is more worried about his draft status than the team. Withholds himself from drills, avoids contact, etc. My hunch is that the coaches have told him to do that to preserve him, but that's his cousin's perception.
- He said the fans weren't that bad to him - certainly not as bad as at p*nn st*t*, but gave him some grief off-and-on. He said the most obnoxious person was a 50-ish woman dressed in some kind of neon pink OSU hoodie. Sloshed, arrogant, etc.
- The only Wisky fans who were really verbally nasty to him during and just after the game were not the students, but the older alumni with walkers. Chris said they were awful.
- You have to walk past fraternity row to get to the stadium, and as he was walking out to where he'd parked, he saw a guy on a balcony take a beer can and take aim at him. Chris pretended he didn't see him, but kept ready. He caught the beer can and threw it back at the guy's front door. The drunk on the balcony said "great catch" and went back to his friends.
My experience was silimar to Defiance. Had a blast and would definitely go again. Although I was disappointed in some of their "fans". The only people who really jumped around was the student section and about 4 people in my section. And too many people left even before overtime was over, including the guys who were sitting to me left and couldn't have been over 25. But overall it was a great time.
I was shocked when everyone was taking off after the fumble. There was a ton of time. I did see a fight in the aisle involving two wisky fans. It would have been funny if there werent so many kids around. All in all it was a blast.
Defiance and Nappy echo what Chris told me. He goes once or twice a year to see his cousin play, and he told me the crowd was nowhere near as loud or as rowdy as they usually are.

Gotta love the BiG.
Thats awesome he caught the can and threw it back.
Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...
I went to the game. Wisconsin looked like they didn't give a shit about winning.
Run_Fido's favorite word is strawman.
I was there. I honestly had a great time and was treated well by their fans.

@JOEINCBUS,
Did Chris mention whether that beer he caught was full or not? If it was... that would be just ridiculous that he would throw it back.
They certainly didn't sound loud watching the game on TV.
