What's going on with the 2014 QB offers? I've read the staff wanted to review film, but I didn't think they would go through the whole season... And who do you think the staff offers?
I've been wondering about the 2014 DL. It seems that most people know who our QB, RB, WR, OL, LB and DB targets are at least to this point. Besides Hand and Brown, who are we going after for the DL in 2014?
Miles, they have to take 2 RBs in 2014. There are several that have OSU at or near the top of the list. I've heard that Haden has OSU at the top and now Jalen Hurd lists OSU as his leader. Plus with 2-3 other top RBs, ATH, the staff can't turn away all these guys.
With respect to LBs in the '14 class, are we targeting 3 as a final number? I would guess McMillan, Booker, and Garrett would be the three highest on our list... Do we have any shot at Daub?
@Buck in SEC- Thinking after the season ends (early winter) we could see a 2014 QB offer.
@Triv- Possible, Hurd can play RB and WR, so kind of a Harvin type.
@Hayze- Look at the DL classes in 12' and 13'. Not a major need. I'm sure there will be a few in the class. More names to come into consideration. It's still very early.
@Weimerad- It's possible, but RB isn't much of a need. Already have Smith, Dunn, Ball, Elliott on the 14' roster. Could see 2, but I'd go with 1 for now. Still very early.
@Buckeyeiclub- Yes guessing 3. Those are the big targets. Daub is a long shot at best.
Read a report on here about a week ago that there was a player considering decommitting from their school to come to OSU. Is this still the case, or has that died down?
Miles, though it might be a premature assumption but do you think Mickey Mitchell injury might affect our chances getting Mike if we did not offer his brother a scholly?
Are Corey Smith and Timmons out of the picture as far as recruiting? Do you see any late emergers or randoms that are not high on our board now potentially the class? if so who?
let's assume we really take 21-22 this class....can we expect 2014 to get up that high with only 13/14 seniors/departures? are there really 6-8 players that are going to leave the program?
Another question: how many receivers do you think we go after? With big in-state targets Snodgrass and Lattimore, can locking down OH's best receivers fill our need?
OTRAIN. I certainly have no idea what plans are but interview in the local paper Timmons said Ohio State still calls him every week and Coach Meyer called him last week to ensure him they still want him, and he might know more after this week. I think the kid is doing a great job staying patient and staying focused on his High School team. Watching Barker and Timmons on Friday should be a treat.
thank you for the continued updates. They are appreciated. This Friday, if you are up to it would you mind having a running thread on Barker and Timmons?
@Meyer- Lee= LB eventually and Worley too maybe. Burrows will come in as a CB, but will be moved to S if he struggles. Bell is a pure safety and Woodard a pure CB. Conley can also be a WR, though I like him more at DB.
@Jackson- Don't see another RB in the class.
@Waycracken- Either 1) Grades/off the field stuff doesn't check out or 2) He wants to take his officials just so he's sure.
Not a question but just a random contribution rather than starting a new thread... but saw ESPN came out w/ a new ESPN 150/300 and Ezekiel Elliott has made the jump into the ESPN 150 checking in at #139 and 14th best RB (should keep increasing by the time the final 150 comes out. I can't remember where he used to be ranked at, but I think it was 230 something maybe? Good to see him start to get recognized! Also Woodard moved up to the 6th best overall prospect and in total OSU now has 7 ESPN 150. With 9 other players inside the top 150 that has OSU as one of the favorites or are planning to visit soon. Looks like we'll have a good finish to this class... Sitting at #5 overall and only going to get better.
Miles... Now that Nkemdiche has now decommitted from Clemson... Is OSU a serious contender for his services or no? He tweeted OSU fans wanting them to show him some love... Is the staff in contact with him?
@ Buckeye_in_sec - The thread that is up and the tweet from Nkemdiche was pulled up from early April. So that probably doesn't have the same value today. fwiw.
I'm curious as to all of the potential DBs we're going after as well... with Woodard, Burrows, Thompson, and Lee on board, as well as Worley, Bell, and Conley being potential additions, does the staff feel talent is part of the reason our secondary has been exploited? I understand Lee might become a much needed LB (and I've heard that Worley might be too), is it true that Urban often tries to convert athletic, speedy safeties into slightly small, yet speedy on the edge linebackers?
Is someone trying to get an interview with the young Bosa to see about his interest in OSU?
And does Derek have someone in mind when he says someone that is currently in the class no longer being the class when it's all said and done?
Haven't reached out yet, but might in the near future.
Don't think he has a specific recruit in mind.
does our incoming running backs and current depth, coupled with a possible Jordan Hall redshirt scare off potiential RB targets?
~Because we couldn't go for three~
Don't think so, but look for only one RB in each of the next two classes. Just don't need too many.
What's going on with the 2014 QB offers? I've read the staff wanted to review film, but I didn't think they would go through the whole season... And who do you think the staff offers?
If we land Jalen Hurd do you see the staff taking a second back? Perhaps a smaller guy like Autry or Haden?
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

Any more CB taken in this class?

on an aside- favorite thread ever

Is Lattimore the top 2014 Ohio player on OSU's board?

^ Don't forget about Derek Kief too.

@Chicago- A lot of potential flips, some we know about, some are more quiet.
@Euro- Mickey is a top 5-10 bball prospect in the country in the 2015 class. Don't see a reason why he wouldn't get offered.
@OTrain- Not completely out of the picture, just fallback options. I think we'll see one suprise.
@Blair- I think Booker is best 2014 OH prospect with Lattimore or Ferns #2.
@BuckeyeBoy- Too early to say how small/big the 2014 class will get. Should know more signing day of this year.
@Buckiclub- Yes, the in-state players can definitely help fill the need. Still will target out of state guys though.
What are we going to do with all these DB's? Say we get Woodard, Burrows, Lee, Bell, and Conley would they all actually play DB?
Lee would probably play LB in that situation. Bell and Burrows would go S and Woodard and Conley would go CB.
PA David Williams Rb UFM still looking at him?
Miles. I dont quite understand. Shelton Gibson has an offer. He wants to commit. Why cant he go ahead and commit?
@Meyer- Lee= LB eventually and Worley too maybe. Burrows will come in as a CB, but will be moved to S if he struggles. Bell is a pure safety and Woodard a pure CB. Conley can also be a WR, though I like him more at DB.

If we somehow miss on Johnson, does the staff go hard after Dawson for 2013? (understanding one is a tackle and the other potentially interior)
"The revolution will be televised."
With the scholarship reductions and the number we are taking this year, how many scholarships are we looking over the next 2-3 years, each year?
Not a question but just a random contribution rather than starting a new thread... but saw ESPN came out w/ a new ESPN 150/300 and Ezekiel Elliott has made the jump into the ESPN 150 checking in at #139 and 14th best RB (should keep increasing by the time the final 150 comes out. two-part question:
1.) Will I ever find true love
&
2.) If I do, what will be the blow-up doll's name?
I'll hang up and wait for your answer. Thanks.

At this point, who would you say has the odds of 75% or higher of signing with OSU? (I hope Dorian Johnson).
thanks
Don't forget Jayme Thompson in DB talk.
