COLUMBUS, Ohio – In 2002 the Ohio State Buckeyes captured their first national championship since 1968 with a 13-0 regular season and a double overtime victory over Miami in the national championship game in Tempe, Ariz. On the 10-year anniversary of their crowning achievement, team members and some coaches will be honored and recognized Saturday at the Ohio State vs. Michigan game in between the first and second quarters at the north end of Ohio Stadium.
Captained by Michael Doss and Donnie Nickey, and with Chris Gamble and Craig Krenzel sharing team MVP honors, the 2002 Buckeyes:§ Set an NCAA Division I record with a 14-0 record;
§ Began the season ranked 13th but worked their way up to No. 2 heading into the title game;
§ Won five games by six points or less;
§ Defeated defending national champion Miami, and snapped its 34-game winning streak, with a 31-24 double overtime victory; and
§ Claimed the Big Ten’s first unanimous national championship since 1968.
Approximately 65 team members have indicated they would be involved in the celebration weekend, which includes a Friday night dinner, a pregame tailgate and being part of the Tunnel of Pride.
Oh god, I can't wait for this Saturday. The 'Shoe is going to be incredible.

They set the record as the first 14-0 team, it would be nice to set the new mark next year at 15-0! 12 regular season games, a B1G Championship game win, round 1 playoff win, then a crystal football!
