I'm making the assumption that Notre Dame wins and goes to the title game first off. 2nd, I think even with a Bama win Florida could end up the 2nd team in the BCS title game. They have a far more impressive resume than Alabama. Bama essentially played 2 good teams all year and one beat them. Both of those teams also have 2 losses so how great are they? You can't put Florida in over a Georgia team that is 12-1 with a win over Florida and Bama, but you could sure as hell put a Florida team in the title game who beat 3 teams in the top 12 over Bama who basically beat LSU and then of course Georgai. I think Florida has a real shot at getting that 2nd spot.

I agree with your reasoning, but it won't happen. The winner of the SEC title game will stay ahead of Florida, who will sit idle while they get another quality win.
if ND loses, Florida plays the winner probably...
I really think Florida is the best team in the SEC. Gotta give it to Georgia in my opinion because they beat Florida head to head, but I still think Florida is a better team. Florida had some close games against bad teams, but who are we to criticize them for that?
I think this is one of the big issues with 14-team conferences, especially since the SEC only plays an 8-game schedule. It creates a bunch of 1 and 2-loss teams, and there's no way of really deciding who's better than who. Alabama didn't play any of the good teams from the SEC East, and against teams that are currently ranked, they went 1-1. Florida meanwhile has beaten 4 teams that are currently ranked, 3 of which are in the top 10. They have road wins over Texas A&M and Florida State, Alabama has a road win over LSU.
I agree that Florida's resume is more impressive, but in the end, if you don't win your division, you're not going to the championship game in that scenario. Notre Dame losing is Florida's only chance, and even though people are STILL picking Notre Dame to lose every week, it isn't happening.
Yeah, if Notre Dame loses tonight, they don't deserve to a shot at the National title. I still think Oregon should get a look, but it's not going to happen either.
If Notre Dame loses, all hell will break loose. Either Oregon or Florida would go. Think about it: neither of those teams are even going to play for their CONFERENCE championships. Unless Kansas State would get a huge boost from beating Texas? I don't think they would jump both of them.
Honestly, I despise the BCS, and considering OSU's bowl ban, who ends up in the title game is the least of my worries. I would love seeing the BCS get screwed by that situation two years in a row. Playoffs are only 2 years away.
I loved K-State, but after that Baylor game and all the points they gave up there, they really have no gripe, even if Notre Dame loses and all hell breaks lose.
Yep. Getting blown out by a team like Baylor is inexcusable. Even West Virginia beat those guys. WTF KState?
That just goes to show how impressive of a feat 12-0 really is. I've had haters tell me that they didn't beat anyone, I said no they beat 12 someones. More talented Buckeye teams have played worse schedules and not pulled off 12-0.
I actually don't care much about teams winning their conference title. Sometimes, the best team doesn't pull it off. Last year, I felt Oklahoma State should of been in because they were the best team from statistically the best conference, but in my mind there was not doubt Alabama was the better of the 2 teams.
