2013 Season
Looking at next years schedule I fully expect to go undefeated. With the returning starters on the offensive side of the ball with an another year experience is going to absolutely dominate our opponents. I know with departure of Simon, Hankins, Howard and possibly Roby the defense will be young but there is no denying that there is major talent waiting to step up. My only concern is the strength of schedule. Vanderbilt backing out really hurt. I'm afraid unless we start preseason top 5 we may get screwed out of a shot at the National Championship if two other teams go undefeated. Thoughts?

I agree with OSU07ASU10. Let's finish this season, then we can get excited for 2013 as the recruiting class comes to a close and Spring ball begins.
There's no question next year's schedule isn't ideal, but it still isn't wise to look past any team. As for players we lose, we will lose more on Defense.
Defense: Simon, N. Williams, Goebel, Sabino, Boren, Howard, Johnson, and probably Hank. Roby is a possibility. We have some good young talent, but I think the LB position is the biggest concern. We need some young talent to develop into starters.
Offense: Fragel and Stoney. I think we will have the talent next year to fill these shoes, so I think the Offense should clearly be even better next year.
Slow down... stop and smell the roses. This year has been a hell of a ride and there are only 2 more game days to savor.
I wasn't looking past this year, I'm just concerned that the same will happen next year that could happen this year. Even if we were bowl eligible and we finish undefeated we wouldn't get a shot at the NC due to in most part strength of schedule. Not to mention Braxton has dropped off of the top 5 heisman watch list even though he is dominating the Bigten. I by no means am trying to take away from this possible historic year. It would be only the 2nd undefeated season I have seen in my lifetime. I was just throwing out a topic for conversation.

* Even if we don't make the NCG next year and we go undefeated, that will be enough for me because...
* Starting in 2014 there will be a rightful playoff that we would likely get into going forward with undefeated seasons which would take care of the "the big ten is weak" issue.
If I live for 7 more Days, and the gallactic alignment happens as we all hope it will.As The 2012 Meyer Calendar comes to a close with an undefeated season,we must enjoy, for this dose not happen often.I have been at every game for three previous undefeated seasons 54, 68, & 02 they were all much more relevant than This Season From Hell that we are enduring now.But alas enjoy the moment, odds are you wont see the likes of this too many times in your lifetime.GO BUCKS!

I definitely feel it is imperitive that we finish in the top 5 to have a shot at next years crown.

You really need to look at our roster. Were possibly losing our entire starting D-line(if Hankins goes). Were losing 2 out of our 3 starting LBs and possibly both of our starting corners (if Roby leaves). So were returning Shazier, Bryant, and Barnett as far as starters worse case. Grant made a few starts and corner and looks promising but is definately no Roby island. Bennett looked great in the spring but has been injuried all year and has never seemed to get it together this season. Were not losing much offensively but defense wins championships. Our season next year will depend a lot on if our young defense steps up to the challenge.
I am not worried about next season, it is a long way from 2013 football. If we struggled this much today against Wisky, we won't win against a championship caliber team next year. Let's worry about beating Tsun next week. If we do win out this year though, I would expect us to be top 5 pre-season.
