Good afternoon,
This past weekend I was talking to a relative who lives down in SC and we were discussing college football and team expectations. He is a big Clemson fan, and we got into discussing the dreaded SEC and team expectations and his answer really surprised me. He is a normal human being who wants his team to win every game and be in the national championship game every year (who wouldn't want that?!?!), but he has season tickets and some of the people around him who have had seats for over 15 years can accept 2-3 losses per year!
My question to you is, would you be happy if I told you that over the next 5-10 years, we would be guranteed to have a record of 11-1 every year? Would you be happy/content with that, or would you be dissapointed that we have a loss every year? Being a realist, i would love us to go undefeated every year, but i know that just isn't going to happen. I would love 11-1 but that means we probably do not have a shot at a national champioship, and with a university like TOSU and the coaching staff that we have i cannot help but want 1-2 NC's over the next 10 years.
Just wanted to see what your opinions are!!
GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!

Depends who the 1 loss is against. If you can tell me that we would beat scUM every year and then lose to someone else, I could deal with that. If that 1 loss was to scUM every year then I would rather slit my throat then to endure that.
not sure if i would slit my throat....but i could take a loss early in the season and win out at the end....
Damn it feels good to be a Buckeye....
Depends who the loss is against. Making sure scUM doesn't go to the Rose bowl is a OSU bowl win in my book
If you had asked me that at the beginning of the season I would've said: HAPPY. I wasn't completely sure if OSU could reach 10 wins. But now with 12-0 in view, I wouldn't use the word "upset", but I have to admit I would be disappointed if we don't achieve 12-0 at this point, especially with our final 2 opponents. Losing to Wisky or UM would be disheartening to say the least.
First of all that would be kinda of impossible. 1 loss would in most years be enough to make the BIG championship game and with the 4 team tournaments that will be here in 14' I would fully expect a 1 loss buckeye team to be included. If they win the whole thing I could care less about having a loss.

If OSU is 11-1 every year over the next ten years, you'd be completely irrational not to accept that. That is a record of 110-10...
I agree it does matter to an extent who OSU loses to, but not enough to really change my decision. If OSU is that good for that extended period of time, they aren't losing to Michigan every year. They are still making it to the B1G Championship virtually every year (unless someone like Wisconsin rises up and goes undefeated), and that means they also still have a shot at the new playoff each and every year.
I take that deal, in a heartbeat!!

if the 1 loss was against Michigan, no, otherwise yes as 11-1 will get tOSU into the new 4 team bcs playoff 99% of the time.
I agree with TENN.
haha yea i forgot about the new playoff format. Good call!!!
Instead of 11-1 every regular season, I would rather go 12-0 a few times with a few 10-2's and 9-3's sprinkled in there. I think that's more realistic anyway.

Happy. I originally thought 9-10 wins would make for a great season this year. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be a little disapointed if we don't go 12-0 now, but if I'd heard 11 wins at the start of the season I would have been jumping for joy.
11-1 every year is a fine record. Urban won 2 titles with 11-1 teams. Of course, when we lose the game I'd be disappointed as no one ever wants to lose, but if we string together a 15 year stretch where my team won 165 games and had 15 losses in that period, well yea, I'd love it.
Lose to Wisconsin and beat TTUN = Happy
Beat Wisconsin and lose to TTUN = Upset
11-1 I'll be content with due to what happened last year and that OSU's ahead of schedule. I think these Seniors will be greatly disappointed which will in turn make me feel the same considering there's no bowl game to send them off with. Other than those aspects, I'll be happy in the long run I think...
Not every year though...OSU HAS to go Unbeaten in order to be in the NC talk<<<Bank that

I'd be upset if we lost to Temper Tantrum Bielema.

He is cool with 2-3 wins bc they are Clemson. When has Clemson won a BCS game?? Never, they have no high expectations. IF we lose to Wis or Scum I will be pissed.
I would say it depends on the season. If the Big Ten ever gets back, I could live with some loses.. This season and this team is special.. 12-0 or bust for me! Worry about next year when it gets hear..
At this point 12-0 or bust, have came this far and losing to either one of those coachs, would be a heart-breaker. Would be amazing if the D shut out the wisco running game. They are sitting on there high horses, after the Indiana game.

I could live with 11-1 as long as that one loss is not against ttun. Personally I would rather have the loss come early and end strong going into the ttun game.
I know I answered this but I cant find it, anyway I stick with whatever I said before.
O H I O is the Buckeye State
I would take 11-1 because of the future 4 team play off format. With teams increasing their SOS OSU included, one loss would not kill a national title hope, and most likely garuntee us a spot in the BIGCG almost every year increasing our chances at the 4 team play-off spot.
Urban will never allow his teams to lose one game in consecutive years, lol. I think any fan would be happy with 11-1, as long as said record allows us to play in the NC

It has become clear to me that Urban has magic powers, and we will NEVER lose a game as long as he is coach. NEVER.
