Is there anywhere to find out where we would be ranked if we could be ranked in the BCS standings. I was just woundering the answer is prolly no but I just wanted to know. Also where do you think we would be ranked? I'm going to go with 5th behind Bame, K-State, Notre Dame, and Oregon.

6th. The computers would have us high, but the polls wouldn't.

Nova do you know it's 6th, or are you just guessing? My guess would be quite a bit lower than that.
I am pretty sure last week they said we would be ranked like 7th or 8th i think. That was according to the espn expert who does stuff on the bcs i would imagine we would have moved up this week
If our ranking in the Coachs and Harris polls was similar to our ranking in the ap poll, we would be ranked 6 or 7. it's very close between us and georgia.
I took a look at the computer rankings that are out (Sagarin, Billingsley, Anderson-Hester, and Wolfe). Ohio State is ranked 11th, 8th, 4th, and 4th, respectively. This would put them just ahead of Georgia and just behind LSU, at least if we only take these four into consideration. Moreover, Ohio State is 6th in the AP Poll, barely ahead of Georgia. This makes me guess that Ohio State would be 6th in the BCS, just ahead of Georgia. This is assuming the Harris voters and coaches would also rank Ohio State 6th. For whatever reason, the other two computer rankings aren't posted yet, so take this with a grain of salt.
Every time I go looking at the websites for the BCS computers I am re-amazed at how bad their pages look, and continue to wonder how the National Championship comes down to these completely unprofessional looking individuals.
I mean, if your whole thing is that you're a computer whiz, you should at least have a descent web presence. Most of those pages hurt my eyes.
@BOREINCARNATED and then there's the NoVA Buckeye rankings, which have the Buckeyes at 4th... non-opinionated, of course.

I know we would've been 7th going into the Purdue game.
I say 5th. Look at the gap in the BCS polls. Now way there is that much of a difference between Oregon and LSU unless a team is missing. Hint hint, OSU.
4 Oregon .9136
Ohio State <--------- Insert the Buckeyes here.
5 LSU .8163
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
5th...and being ineligible for BCS game could be a blessing in disguise. I could see OSU on the outside looking in IF Bama, KSU, ND and Oregon go unbeaten (which all of them may end up being the beginning of December). I really hope Bama loses the SEC championship game...gosh that would be great. They have to beat LSU and then lose that game...oh boy that could shake things up folks.

I can't see us being ranked that high in the BCS computers because of our strength of schedule. We haven't played many if any ranked opponants. Certianly not to the level of the schedules of the top 5 teams. Plus with Georgia beating Florida Saturday I would think they would be higher as well.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
Strength of Schedule would probably put us at 7th. All of LSU, UF, and UGA loses came against a top-10 team.
The only currently ranked teams OSU has beaten is a 6-2, #20 Nebraska.
IMO, we would be sixth in the BCS standings, but also IMO we are roughly the 10th best team in the country right now. I think it goes something like this:
(South Carolina would be above us WITH Lattimore)
So I'm glad we aren't playing any of those top 6 teams in a bowl this year. I'd always love to play ND, no matter how good they are. And anyway, I don't think they'd score much on us, and I DO think we could run on them. I just think we match up well, even though they may beat some teams we wouldn't beat (i.e. Oklahoma, who I don't think we match up well with).
Next year, however, I fully expect Braxton to have improved his passing enough for us to be able to beat teams in the air when they're stacking the box against the run (at least I hope so!). If that's the case, and we get improved LB play from the young guys, then we're a top five team. If not, then we're about where we are right now: a very good, barely top 10 team with major flaws. Could still win the Big Ten, of course, but not likely beat the best SEC teams.

Pretty sure he does (will do) this every week.
