I'm beginning to wonder (not knowing the status of a lot of recruits' timelines for commiting) when everyone thinks we will get the next commit? With Tyquan Lewis, we had a set date and most of us had a pretty good feeling about Tyquan choosing the 'good guys.' My best guess would be if Mike Mitchell makes his visit in November before the OSU/UM game, he will commit shortly afterward. My next lean would be Dorian Johnson immediately following a victory he witnesses over UM (best if that completes a 12-0 season, naturally). Do some commits wait until after the season to see if our competing schools even retain their head coach? With the new offer to Skai Moore (which if Alex/Derek/Miles can answer if it's a truly commitable offer, please do) and a lot of commits from other schools expressing new interest, it should be interesting to say the least. Is Urban using the verbal vs. commitable offer as his way to deal w/ the B1G's ban on oversigning, so he can pick and choose his recruits? Does he allow guys like Munger or Worley to tell them they're in, only for him to say 'we need you to hold your commitment for now until we get an idea of our exact number of scholarships available due to attrition?' Will we see a '14 player commit before the next '13 player? The more opinions, the better...

I think that what we see with 2014 is a ton of guys talking about goint to the same school (the Big 3, Barker, Artavis Scott, Miles Autry, etc.), but I'm really curious as to who pulls the trigger of that group first, andd whether that then results in a wave of subsequent commits. It seems like all the guys look to Barker with a ton of respect, and want to play with him. So, while I might be on a limb here, I think the 2014 class timeline comes down to if and when Barker gets his offer.
As for 2013, I think the UM game and the subsequent days are going to bring the final members of this class.
4-6 seconds of relentless effort
I'd love to see Drew Barker offered, and have to think JT Barrett's injury may have moved up the QB offering time... However, the fact that DeShaun Watson has us right behind his committed school of Clemson (who has an offer) may cloud when and who they offer. Some of these top QBs may be reconsidering their recruitment if Urban wills this team to a 12-0 season, and have to think they could accept a scholarship right into a national championship...
I thought they were recruiting Watson as an ATH?
Hopefully The Game will seal the deal on some big time prospects like Gibson, Dorian & Trey Johnson, & James Quick.
Also when it comes to the 2014 class, I could see a few committing, especially a guy like Dante Booker Jr (LB/ Akron SVSM), Drew Barker (if offered), Jonathan Haden (if has commitable offer, which Id imagine), Thaddeus Snodgrass (WR/Springfield), Kyle Trout (if offered), Marshon Lattimore (WR/CB/Glenville), Raekwon McMillan (said he wants to be someone that makes an impact on his recruiting class by recruiting class, no other way of doing that instead of commiting early), or Jalen Hurd (just put us as #1 on his list).
This 2014 class will land atleast 1 IF the 2014 class dosnt have any commitments by The Game OR the 2014 class will land 2 or 3 IF the 2014 class has a commitment or 2 in the bag before The Game.
I say this because most of the 2014 kids are wanting to play w/several other prospects/friends (like royball mentioned), so depending on the amount of commitments for 2014 before the game decides the amount we get right after the game.
I look at it like we dont know if Meyer is having 2014 kids hold off right now till the end of the season, or maybe after national signing day 2013, or maybe nobody is ready to commit yet, that is still a mystery. So w/Michigan being a HUGE recruiting weekend, does Meyer start letting kids commit several weeks before to help pickup some recruiting steam, or does he let kids start commiting during the weekend/visits or does he still make them wait?? All those question are still unanswered.
so like I said, I could see a top prospect, at a position of need, who has had OSU as his #1 for quite some time now commit with in the next month (before the game if aloud by Meyer) by the name of Booker. I think this will show 2014 recruits that the steam is going, big game, 2014 will be an amazing class & Meyer knows what hes doing at OSU, so Im going to commit, hopefully bringing in several other top prospects like McMillan, Snodgrass, Lattimore, Watson, Hurd or someone.
The Game will land 4 commitments is my prediciton, mark it down. 1 or 2 from 2013 class & 2 or 3 from 2014.
#Buckeyes
It's just the timing of recruiting. Both the recruits and the coaches are focused on playing football right now. Wait until seasons are over and then the focus will shift once again.
As for me, I'd really like to get Barker in early and agree that he'd be the foundation of the 2014 class. He could then start recruiting on his own. After Barker, I'd like a big name LB'er to commit early. Then we'd have a foundation to build off of on both sides of the ball. However, we must remember that that is the 2014 class and they are a long ways away from signing anything.
Shift the focus to the 2013 class where we still have a chance to make a huge (HUGE) splash. Priorities will be #1 Bell , #2 Johnson , #3 LB. I am not worried about these so-called playmakers that we need. Sure, I'd love to have some big name guys commit at WR, but I see three problems here: 1. my opinion is that we already have playmakers, but they are still developing (think how young our "playmaking core" is). 2. one (myself) could argue that our offense seems be doing fine with what we have this year which is the same as what will be returning next year and therefore, defensive recruits should be stressed. 3. We may not land the big fish, and if not, no big deal, we have WRs ready to commit that are already highly regarded.
I hope they offer the "pizza guy" I hear the kid can run a 4.3/40 and maintain that speed for over 500+ yrds. Also with no job he could enroll early :)
O H I O is the Buckeye State
I also like the QB/LB combo for the '14 class of early commits, hopefully Drew Barker/Dante Booker... and the quick addition of Marcelys Jones would also help (because OL hang out w/twitter with OL.., and that would give a good foundation for our much-needed OL depth). The kicker w/ 'The Game' is that once it's over, the full focus of the staff becomes recruiting. And if you want to win, finishing a season 12-0 would be a huge tool and you can start picking and choosing recruits immediately instead of focusing on the bowl game.
When do Gibson's grades come in? If that's what's holding him back, I would think he'd have that in order (if not, then it's not mean to be) and be ready. I think Mitchell will be right around the same time and will be a Buckeye. If not Bell, then Worley. I think Johnson comes around, but don't ask me for solid evidence or logic, 'cause I have none. Just have a feeling. Quick in the end as I think Strong bolts. L'ville is undefeated, Strong has proven himself, and still nobody cares. Time to make his legacy at a football school.
I think that most of the 2014 targets are too big to commit yet (McMillan, Hurd, etc.), and we're not fishing for the smaller ones just yet. Lattimore maybe as it seems he's feeling the energy.
Finishing undefeated, though, would be huge, especially with the final game being an electric one at the 'Shoe against archrival. With that as an end note, anything can happen.
i really thought someone was gonna commit after the braska game... but there will def b a couple after the meatchicken thomping
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
